Approach lights won’t change as touchdown position for 20 remains unchanged due glide slope requirements over railway works. Remember this is only a ‘starter strip’ extension.

I note an E70 is due to join the fleet, is this for any particular reason?

The E70 could be for charters. Eastern have been doing more football team charters since we lost Cello Aviation.

Runway Extension

Work has started to re-route a Southern Water sewage pipe to allow the start of concrete laying for the extension in April 2023. Finish date will be a few months later.

I thought the plan was to have the runway...

I thought the plan was to have the runway extension completed by end of April 2023, also there will be one less stand on southern side of the terminal in order to be able to handle three A320 size...

Plan is for it to be completed by end of April 2023. Remains to be seen if they can achieve that.

Think it was needed back to cover for a constant ATR unavailability...it has been deployed daily on some of the SOU - BHD or SOU - DUB schedules since it returned.

The A320 is not too big. Many summers ago I flew on Iberworld 320 to PMI. This operated for a couple of years, no problems.
