What does it matter at the end of the day? You are legally required to carry photo ID as a pilot. A passport or national ID card seems to fit the requirement perfectly or amI missing something?

incorrect....... it’s the number one reason we have ICAO conversion for CPL refused. You have to hold a night rating. Your licence has to say night rating or equivalent on it or your application...
