First class

i just find first class bizarre. What kind of a lunatic would pay the cost of a luxury car for perhaps 8-9 hours of limited cosseting?
Better fly Y class to Bangkok (for example) and check-in at a...

See my post number 49 on thread "Airport security Fiasco" 2nd page concerning lack of security measures on fast ferry Boulogne-Dover.

And to put the lid on all this....

The public can be forgiven for being extremely sceptical about the seriousness with which the UK authorities take security. What is happening at airports is ridiculous given the following true...

Brits going to Spain.

Of course the reason the Spanish are tightening up on travellers from the UK could well be that they have had problems with islamic terrorism (remember the Madrid train bombings?) and the UK is now...

Handbags

To my knowledge, this daft rule is only applied in the UK. Your lady may find that coming back from Nice, there is no problem. Yet another example, alas, of British sheer bloody-mindedness.

Mea culpa

Brupax,

Thanks for the explanation, I had assumed the question related to the contents of luggage, car etc., not my clothing.

From what you relate, it seems that I am seriously innocent.

A confession

Brupax, 'tis true that I left the UK for the elysian fields of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg 25 years ago.

However, I'm no innocent. So, what you are suggesting is that I, a lunatic drug addict...

Daft rules and security goons.

Sad thing about this is that it is the airlines and their employees (including pilots) who will suffer because of all this. With government slapping unjustified extra taxes on fares and the low-cost...
