According to said instructor, this doesn't actually say you can add an IMC or IR(R) to an existing EASA license, only that if you have a old style license and get an IMC you will get an EASA license...

Yes, he did it in November, as soon as someone pointed out that he could. Paperwork was submitted later in November, and the CAA was persuaded to check it all in December!

I meant I had just finished the exams!

Well, the club faxed the form to the CAA on Wednesday and phoned me on Saturday with a date - this Friday! So clearly the old ground exams are still fine! ...
