Why do glider pilots constantly feel the need to go on about how gliding makes you a better pilot. Arguably almost all flying makes you a better pilot provided you're not boring holes in the sky...

I would bet on there being a large number of CPL/IR holders trying for this. Though you say they would have to stump up the £25k salary to hire at that level, there would be more than a few already...
