We definately need more Dash drivers. However, don't hold your breath that we'll recruit many if at all (unless perhaps from mentored FTO schemes.) Undercrewed is where its at, it seems. One can only assume that it's cheaper to pay people overtime to work days off than it is to hire more rotorvator operators.

I need a holiday.

Bet I get called on day 1 of it though..........

Fingers crossed for those of you seeking to join.

You are all sharper than I am! I received the email on the first June, happened to have flown that day so entered it as my last flight and thought nothing more of it. I assumed they therefore meant a date must be entered between 01/12/11 and what was then the present date. My application has not been deleted although technically it should be as my last date flown is not between those dates and they don't actually state they are inclusive. I'd be interested to hear if anyone entered a date after 1st June and whether they can still access their profile or whether it has been deleted? I suspect that if you update again and say your last date flown was yesterday that'll be fine too (as long as it was!). I hadn't realised the problem though in the first place, hence you are smarter than I!

I put a date after the range stated and can still access my application.

I wouldn't say smart. It took a good while for the penny to drop and I may have realised too late!

All this palava for a PFO!

Positive Recruitment

Recruitment is ongoing. Admittedly at a trickle but the most recent course consisting of 6 (?) pilots from the preverbial hold pool. Generally cadets being the preferred new hires but hold poolers picked off as and when, FACT!

Company short of aircraft and pilots, which bodes well for wannabes.

As they say you have to be in it to win it.....

Is there any current route in for modular trained (not at one of the partner schools)?

Guys, how strict are the recruitment department on the "one stop modular" policy? I've done my cpl and ir at different schools.

Anyone have any idea on the chances for non-Dash rated turbo prop FOs? Do they prefer low hours to guys with a fair amount of turbo prop experience?
Thanks

Direct entry recruitment is from a very broad mix of backgrounds and experience. There is no preferred profile, simply that applicants meet the validity criteria.

I have just updated my online application again although I spoke to Flybe HR and they said they were only taking cadets on at present (I'm experienced pilot), does anybody know how often I need to update my application, thanks?

The pace of those leaving is slowly starting to pick up, jet2, monarch, the gulf and many waiting in the BA hold pool.

I would avoid speaking to HR. Fortunately they have no involvement in pilot recruitment and it is done in house by Flight Ops, which will be why HR don't know what's going on.

Just to clear something up,they won't take any more modular/integrated students right? As they now have another MPL deal with a dutch FTO, I assume what they have written on their website regarding modular students doesn't reflect the route the airline decided to take when it comes to recruitment of low hour's...or am I wrong here?

Wrong

Plenty of modular, and direct entry pilots being taken on in this batch of recruitment (I say plenty, I mean a few)

At present, all recruitment is Q400 only. Command and EJET positions are all filled via internal promotion, the waiting times for these vary widely but early promotion available if you fancy a move north of the border.

The big bases are showing a current wait for EJET, FO position, of about 5 years, longer for command on Q4.

New hires will always get the Dash, movement to the jet is done purely on seniority and bidding. Once you are in you can bid, but you will have to wait your turn.

Artic Monkey,

Aren't those guys on the hold pool since 2011?since they closed the recruitment system year 1/2 ago,it seems that they would get enough MPL's which worries me to be honest...!chances of applying and getting to interviews reduced to near zero in UK!

Not sure to be honest, all I know is there is an ex flight instructor taken on, a couple of current airline pilots, the odd fATPL chap/chappette and a few ex Herc chaps. The MPL cadets coming through will probably not meet the requirements of the airline in the coming couple of years, and most certainly not when recruitment elsewhere picks up.

Good luck.
