Yes the EASA PART MED 15th Dec is the document you need to read. It looks like its a big change from JAR and one for the better.

Yes I read it the same way. Even though it says -6 or better can be granted a medical, it also says that if you are a greater diopter then you can be referred to the authority. Its the way I read it...
