Well I'm supposed to be flying out to Cuba on Saturday - doubt that's going to happen. Thomas Cook have kept a low profile though - wonder what their plans are!

Why not have the 12 year inspection rather than the complete overhaul ?
Similar to the Austrian setup, but at least the parts have been inspected, rather than risk something going bang at altitude!

There are so many R44's flying around without bladders. The owners don't realise that there is a 6 month backlog on these things.
They have to be ordered by serial, so it's not as simple as one...

gary1 - you can either have a 12 year overhaul which means at the end you will have 12years/2200hours remaining. Or 12 year inspection which is entirely different. So say the machine has 800 hours...

Either way - €32k for an 89 R22 running in widow-maker mode doesn't make sense either. Get it overhauled!! :=

The depreciation on the R44 over the 2-4 years you own it...
