Out of interest, is the FCC check done with electrical power on, whereas parking/tie down with it off? Could imagine there may be solenoids open/closed in the system when powered up that aren't when...

Why not pistons? You are just as likely to smack an R44 into a hillside as an R66, for example, so why have evidence of one and not the other?
