Dual Controls EC135
Quick question, can the dual controls on an EC135 be easily removed? Do single pilot operators often have them removed so that the seat is available for pax? Any known issues?

A Part-145 MRO can train, check and authorise a pilot to remove them. I am not sure if under the 145 CRS rules the Pilot can be trained and authorised to fit them! Ask your MRO.
Removal involves a few spring clips, some electrical socketry with screw threads and Velcro covers for the holes that are left. Takes about 5 minutes.
Also a duplicate inspection is required as it is flight controls.
Hope this helps.
Tightgit
Although if you have shovelmitts for hands you will find it a frustrating endeavour. If you have pianists hands, a lot easier.🙂
Keep in mind there are two different styles of duals: one with short throttle grips and one with long throttle grips. They can't be intermixed. There are also several system light checks required when installing the dual collective stick. Also make sure when installing T/R pedals the pip pins engage through the T/R bellcrank arm. Some pedals have a tight fit and if not careful may miss the bellcrank arm. Everything usually passes the final static checks then when in a hover and performing a pedal turn that particular pedal folds over the bellcrank arm creating a bit of excitement. Final tid bit, when removing the duals ensure you install the airframe side dual control cannon plug receptacle caps. There are jumper wires in those caps that if not installed will cause several electrical systems to not work properly with the remaining control sticks. Good luck.

Be careful not to rotate the "Throttle " control with the power off as that could cause an expensive repair bill. Earlier S#s for sure, there was a mod but the warnings about causing damage were not removed from the manuals and the Airbus reps in Texas would not say it was benign to move the throttle without power after the the mod.
