The latest toy in Den Helder:
It was on a night stop, today continued to Norway for the paintjob and postmods. Looking forward to get it back :D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...s/EC155b11.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...s/EC155b12.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...x/EC155b13.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...x/EC155b14.jpg Photos by Jack, thanks! :ok: :ok: :ok: |
Nice FMS system taped to the glare shield. Makes one wonder about the rest of built in kit.

Pictures sent to by a friend in NZ.
They were taken by Rob Neil, aviation photographer and writer who's the new owner of Pacific Wings the aviation magazine. http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...eensland_2.jpg Around the Whitsunday Islands off the central Queensland coast (Thanks to imabell for giving me the location. :ok: ) http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...phinN2NZ_2.jpg Daupin N2, New Zealand |
Hey Blender
A while back you mentioned crocs, or that croc dundee dude and reporters nearly in the same breath. On the link below you will see one of the northern oz commercial rotary pastimes reported on by one of our better reporters. http://www.abc.net.au/reslib/200605/r85391_250374.jpg Who owns the 206 I have no idea, too close to the salt water for me. Her hometown is where they have trapped about eight man-eaters since the floods this year. Not as many as Florida have found by accounts after their couple of little rain showers, but she lives about 400 k by water from the briny. Katie happens to wear a shirt quite well. I met her inland quite aways a few years ago. She has recently been up in the artic circle chasing all sorts of animals up there? Maybe someone could con her into a bit of an exchange down your way. I think she’s way to much an outdoors girl to want to be mixed up in our southern traffic reporting? http://www.abc.net.au/rural/content/2006/s1634992.htm There have been some VERY interesting stories written about this form of sport, all to do with protective mother crocs and scaredie cats egg collectors?? |
No requirement to cage the standby ADI on the 155 before switching off the power then...

A question for the Sea King drivers:
I wonder why the front wheel is not in a straight position. How do the wheels work? Aren't they locked in the normal position? Or are they retracted in the last position? http://www.globalsecurity.org/milita...ages/h3_05.jpg |

July's Calendar
http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/PP...ly1024x768.jpg
I'm sorry for the delay, it's been hell (and heaven too) around here, presidential elections here tomorrow, lots of work to do. I made a post so that you Ladies and Gentlemen would send me pictures for the calendar but as it turns out I didn't get any, and since I forgot about it until Heliport kindly remided me, I just used what I had in my hard drive. July 1280 x 1024 Resolution July 1024 x 768 Resolution |
Thank you, BP.
As always, very much appreciated. Brian |
thanks as always for the desk top......for some reason i can't get it to fit my screen this time .......just have to have a long long ranger intsead this month:ok:
toohey |
For the rank amateurs among us, what are the various helicopters in the pics? I'm guessing the top left green jobbie is a jetranger, but not too sure about the others...
Ta :) |
Ooh ooh can I be really girly?
Pandalet, the top left is green and black one, the bottom left is a red one. Top right is a white and yellow one and the bottom right is orange and grey!
Actually the bottom right one, is exactly the same colours as my Triumph Bonneville; they called the scheme Lucifer and Silver! Still orange and grey!! I have to admit, I'm not good at identifying helicopters either especially from odd angles or where there's no indication of scale. I think the red one is a Long Ranger and the Lucifer/Silver is an A109. Might stick my neck out and suggest that the white/yellow one is a BK117? Cheers Whirls |
I think.................... it goes something like,
Jetranger BK117 B407 A109grand |
Bell 407, of course it is. I suppose the four blades is the cleverly hidden clue :ugh:
Cheers Whirls |
Hey I didn't like the calendar myself but at least it got you guys thinking!

Hey I didn't like the calendar myself but at least it got you guys thinking! I thought it was great with a real good use of different colours, especially the 109, nice paint job!! I look forward to the next installment :ok: Jim  |
We had to take the JetRangers back up to the snow this morning, these were taken whilst flogging along at FL nosebleed...well, 9000ft feels that way sometimes ;)

Thanks Whirly and jetflite - allowed me to look all knowledgable and smug in front of co-workers, right up to the point where someone asked me how many of those I could actually fly...
ah, well...one day! :ok: |
Heading for the snow.
JE, glad to see that you got your ski basket that you were looking for. Did the BK go as well and was that what the photos were taken from?
Enjoy the season.:ok: |
I'm sure you could fly all of them; you just don't have a type rating!
If it makes you feel better, I'm not type rated on any of them either:) |
jetflite
How do you know it is a AB 109 Grand and not a Power? MD:E |
I don't..:} .. i based it on the window design, maybe i have it back to front.... the grand has the larger 2nd window as oppose to the powers skinny and longer 2nd window...:p
