Nightdipper,
Is that your photo, and do you have a larger image (than the one on the host site) available to be used as a calendar background? Thanks |
The photo was send to us by the vessel, so all credits go to them.
On my computer the picture is normal size, but with the same resolution (1219-810 125kb). If that suits I can e-mail it to you. cheers ND |

Photo's
Hello, just wandering if anyone has any good photo's of the North sea machines ?
I know there is "Rotorheads around the world" but I am specifically looking for European North Sea, i.e BA Helicopters, North Scottish, BCAL, Bristow, BIH, Bond, Maersk, Helikopter Service etc. Cheers NST If you have photographs on your computer which are not on a website, this photo-hosting service is reliable and free: Photobucket.com Heliport |
For NorthSeaTiger: a couple of images lifted from presentations made during the recent IHSS conference in Montreal.

Medevac
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...edevac12sb.jpg One of the more unusual medevac's during my time in the NL Navy. Wish I could have done a 6 month tour on this baby. :ok: http://img373.imageshack.us/img373/8...07050755gj.jpg This is what I do since I left the Navy. Great fun :ok: |

When you guys spray like this, does any of it enter the cockpit?
|
No because we maintain forward speed, by the time you come back round for your next run the spray has settled and starts doing what it does best.......KILL

I have to say speaking as an ex professional photographer in the late 70’s early 80’s I.e. pre-digital in the days of darkrooms and chemicals, that these photographs are absolutely outstanding to glossy magazine quality. I feel some of these photographers should be recognised.

December calendar
'tis the season to be jolly, bah humbug, etc etc ;)
This month's offerings include both standard and widescreen format: I am still putting the standard at 1024 x 768, maybe a straw poll to let me know if this is still a high enough resolution for everyone? The widescreen is 1680 x 1040, which should suit most users. The snow scene is courtesy of Ron Kellenaers, who took the AS532UL Cougar as the opening display of the 2005 Axalp fire power demo. The LtSt6 Swiss Air Force Cougar fired off 128 flares in the one pass: more photos are at Ron's site, www.sgniederrhein.net. http://www.helicopterservice.com.au/...ma%20thumb.jpg http://www.helicopterservice.com.au/...de%20thumb.jpg The Antipodean offering comes from Whangaruru, Northland, New Zealand; the photo is by Neil Wellwood of one of his R44's spraying gorse, and the pilot was Steve Pascoe, co owner of TwinCoast Helicopters. http://www.helicopterservice.com.au/...44%20thumb.jpg http://www.helicopterservice.com.au/...de%20thumb.jpg To download the required image, click on the thumbnail, and the full size image will be displayed. Right click on the full size calendar, and Set as Background to put it as wallpaper on your monitor :ok: |
Wow this photo of the Cougar is just beyond........ :ok: :ok: :ok:

Recent air to air shoot over Los Angeles, couple of A109s in formation with downtown buildings as backdrop.

beautiful shots as always, ned... :ok:
|
Yes, nice shots Ned. Interesting comparison of two generations of A109s, and a good reminder of what a nice coat of paint can do for a 15 year old aircraft (901KP) !
Still on the Agusta theme, stumbled across a nice shot of a couple of AB139s and a brace of Black Hawks in Pakistan. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...s_pakistan.jpg I/C Link fixed and pic resized. H. |

The BlackHawks belong to what was the 48th Aviation Company that first flew in combat in Vietnam. |
Fantastic! Anyone offer a similar service for us mere FW types? (though I now have the Swiss one as my wallpaper!)

Hi Ned,
I'd say... "All the places (you) shouldn't be" :} Spunk |
The missus just saw the wallpaper and said
"oh its one of those boat plane waterfall things isnt it?" Just had to laugh |

The photo of the Aloutte II disappearing over the roof of a building, is there some 'smoke and mirrors' involved there, seems a funny angle to be. What was the background to the shot?. Brilliant photos I must say. |

Went to pick up a new Bell 407 built by Geneva Aviation/Helinet, interesting machine, and fun 2,600 mile flight home, got the helicopter with 34.5 hours and now after the ferry flight and the Microwave testing it has almost 80 hours on it. Here are some pictures.
The first fully capable High Definition ENG helicopter in outside the United States, and the 5th in the world! http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/PPRuNe/53625.jpg I wonder if they heard I was coming? Picked up the helicopter at Boeing Field, had to do the acceptance flights by flying up and down the Boeing Field runway since the field was less than VFR min. http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/PPRuNe/53625A.jpg Just before long flight home began, getting out of Seattle was difficult due to all the airspaces in the area and WX, had to depart under SVFR which is never nice if you are unfamiliar with the area. http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/PPRuNe/53625B.jpg I like this view because I will be able to tell right away if the boom falls off. http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/PPRuNe/53625C.jpg Still only a few miles from the Seattle area http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/PPRuNe/53625D.jpg Landed for fuel in Napa, and then went by the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/PPRuNe/53625F.jpg Refuelling in the middle of nowhere, Blythe California, not to far from here the controller had us vectored to give some room for a U2 spyplane to launch near Edwards AF, it went right in front of us like a rocket. http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/PPRuNe/53625G.jpg Ever seen these radar blimps? They are held to the ground by cables and they just sit there at 12,000 feet! http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/PPRuNe/53625H.jpg Sand dunes in Chihuahua Mexico. http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/PPRuNe/53625I.jpg Showing it off to the girls at the hangar, Cinthya and Liliana. http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/PPRuNe/53625J.jpg Finally at its home pad at 8,100 FT http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/PPRuNe/53625L.jpg |
Hi BlenderPilot,
I have to admit, I'm very jealous but can't tell if it's 'cause of the girls or cause of the 407 :ok: What kind of camera are you using?? A Sony Z1E or a JVC or anything else? |
Nice pics Blenderpilot!!
Gissa job in your hangar:E |
I certainly have been working in the wrong hangars!
To think BP gets paid too! |
Hi
Last picture I can see is the 500 in the fog to burn off. Can´t see the 407, neither in Firefox nor in the Explorer. Why is that ? Cheers |
