Ned-air2Air
A few years since I've had you in the front seat of an R22 or B47 sunshine, you've been in a good paddock.

I recognise the sandshoe boot, that's all, did the 407 run to seat belt extenders????? :D

Ned-Air2Air 15th July 2006 10:21

TopEndTorque,

Since I have only ever flown with one person in an R22 or 47 in OZ I know exactly whom you be :ok: :ok: :ok:

Hope life is well with you and still have heaps of amazing photos I shot with you during those few days. For the record that trip ranks as prob my best trip of all time :ok:

Cheers and that is NOT me in the front of the 407. I took the photo and sat in the back for the shoots :D

Cumbrian Air Ambulance Bolkow performs two pick-ups from a fairly tight location in Foxfield near Broughton-in-Furness.

Loads of wires, trees, fences, lamp posts and buildings around - two very well flown pick-ups were made after a very thorough recce of the location.

Speaking of the V22, here are a couple of pics emailed to me by a friend who is CEO of Helinet in LA.

They were shooting the V22s as part of some movie or advert over the White Sands area.

Note: They are the USAF versions.

Air Force? I guess the Marines have done a trick on the Zoomies then....sure says Marines on the sides of the things! This will be a first....the Marines handing down something to the Air Force!:uhoh:

Ned-Air2Air 16th July 2006 23:23

Ralphie,

You must be going blind :D :D

Look on the side of the two pics I posted, the USAF insignia is clearly visible. These two V22s are based at Kirtland AFB as part of the first squadron to stand up using the CV22. I think they are the training squadron.

Cheers

Kopter - Thats a gorgeous shot. If the tail rotor had a bit more movement in it I would suggest it be a poster image.

Thanks Ned, it was taken by News Ltd photographer, Simon Bullard from a AS350.

The shoot was in support of the forthcoming flick Transformers. The USAF was also kind enough to allow the F-117 and F-22 to be used for the film.

Good rear-quarter ID for the CV vs. MV are the additional DIRCM antennae.

Ned-Air2Air 17th July 2006 03:14

Kopter - Tell him he does some nice work. Unfortunately those who dont shoot helos regularly always do that cardinal sin of using too fast a shutter speed and stopping the blades. Apart from that it is a gorgeous image.

Pass on to him that shooting a helo would be best with 125th or slower then he will ace it. :ok: :ok:

Kopter,

Fantastic shot.

Any chance that you have a 1024x768 version that could be used as a desktop background ?

How about August's calendar as well BlenderP. ?

Love the movement in the blades.

Few more from my files. The A109s are Heli Dubai's toys and the EC130 is operated by Las Vegas helicopters, naturally in Las Vegas.

Quick question to all the LongRanger/TwinRanger pilots out there: Is one actually allowed to fly the LongRanger/TwinRanger without the middle section litter door on the left side in place, as is the case in the photograph above? I merely ask, because I have never seen a LongRanger or TwinRanger fly in such a configuration before.

Encyclo 20th July 2006 17:08

Big Mike,

Had dinner with your boss on Tuesday night and told him how great I thought you photos of the Alpha fleet were. :ok:

Keep up the good work:D
