VF
In your photo "Annapurna Base Camp South Rescue" it looks like one of the buildings - the older grey one has moved and is on an angle as it falls into the drop behind it. Is that an illusion or ????? |
Hey VF - were you involved or know about this one?

Namaste Heliops
Yep the JetBox is quite a performer, but she MUST be handled very gently with all arrivals planned very exactly as she doesn't have any margin to play with when landing above 9,000' especially when landing at 16,000' But Yes they are an amazing machine http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...ilies/cool.gif would Love her to shed a few kilos & add the C20R :O Then I would take her to Everest Base Camp for a rescue. http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...y_dog_eyes.gif ------------------------------------------------- Hi krypton_john Nope not me? ------------------------------------------------ Hey 500N Yep an illusion :8 ------------------------------------------------ Hey krypton_john No Chance :} ----------------------------------------------- Thanks for the great feedback Guys :O Land Happy Always http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...lies/wink2.gif VF |

VF - you left your landing light on! :p
Keep up the good work, :D |
Hi VF!
Now I know why you have no LTE issues with the Jet Box: secret, warped, high-altitude tail rotor blades, as seen in the picture above  :} Always impressed with your flying & photography :D |
Details
Namaste Anthony correct landing light is on; inside controlled airspace it's always gotta be on, 2 minute landing rotors running so leave lights on.
Thanks for the nice comments Land Happy Always :p |
LTE
Hey Encyclo
hehehehe Mate no LTE, judicious use of wind with carefully planned approaches. For a US machine, wind; Best around 10o'clock, French 2 :\ LTE is real := especially for a JetBox  :ouch: experinced LTE once, not fun; I did not take into account the potential for a strong downslope wind from a small gully just in front/below my Helipad 13,307'. Approaching from up the main Valley into a steady 17 knots upslope. 150 meters to go, then BANG nose going fast right, me full left pedal? machines continues to yaw right, so I? Ass umed - TR drive failure, rolled off throttle to straighten on a hovering auto? Shut down, exit to find machine perfect? the ridge line Helipad I'm standing on there's a steady 15knots upslope? Hmmmmm, walk back to the edge of the pad & BANG, I'm hit by a freezing cold 15knots going straight down @ 90degrees to the prevailing wind & Valley, just there above the pad? Hmmmmm then I thinks? my TR went to VR state (LTE) from the wrong R sided cross-wind.... I lost TR authority :} :( I was already over the pad with almost no ground speed, so elected against a GoAround? :OWe Live - We Learn:O Cheers & thanks  Land Happy Always :D |
VF,
It doesn't look so dusty where you fly. Normally evident from blade leading edges. Have you considered getting rid of your particle separator? A lot of of 206's in PNG were without them. |
