Even in a 212, from that height, if you chop the power there 'aint gonna be much oomph left in those spinny things by the time you arrive at the bottom. Something is gonna break.

only way you‘re going to make it from that height is to lower the collective and pull again near the ground. That MIGHT have saved the aircraft from damage if timed right.

Sagarmatha... even in the best sunshiney weather, the peak is always windswept and obscured. Not a place for the timid. Or the sensible.

Re 5361 and similar. Ever seen (or started) an avalanche. Would be spectacular and very scary to watch I reckon.

I think that covers it very nicely, VF. This is not a good place for student pilots to build hours.

What always strikes me is the way the peak of Everest can be CAVU within 500 meters, but near the rock you are in whiteout conditions. A challenging place to fly. Requires high performance machinery operating at red-line. Better you than me, matey. :)
