I dusted off the camera, and took a few shots recently....

Friend of mine Sigurdur Asgeirsson cpt of the Icelandic Coast Guard, took this picture last summer of
HSI(helicopter service iceland) Long Ranger on a job with glaciologist doing research on glacier movement , the location is
south east side of Vatnajökull, Europe´s largest glacier. The tripod has a DGPS fixed on it and are left on location throughout summer.
The pilot was cpt Jon Bjornsson of HSI.

Well I thought so as first but there doesn't look to be enough 'blurring' around the moving parts.... its all too sharp.

Mi-8 MTV-1 with Russian Flight Engineer. Stellenbosch airfield, Western Cape, 21st April 05
Two Mi-8s are brought from Russia each year for South Africa’s summer months and are on permanent standby to fight fires in mountainous areas near Cape Town.
They are ZS-registered for the duration of the contract and operated by Russian Captains and FE's with South African co-pilots.
This year’s fire-fighting contract was due to end three days after the pics were taken - it's the beginning of Autumn in SA - and I was kindly offered a flight on the last day but was unable to rearrange plans. Very frustrating!

After some of the chat slagging Explorers, here's a nice pic of the Sussex 902 landing at Shoreham earlier this week. (Bear in the Air flying)
There may be problems with spares but it's still the best helicopter I have flown and perfect for the Police/Ambulance role we have here in Sussex.
It's my last picture from England as I'm off to sunnier climes in 12 weeks. I'll post something from there.

Nice photos 407D, but you may have to focus your camera a bit - it almost looks like your bucket is attached directly to the belly of the 212!!

Good eye Squirrel, I knew you'd catch that one Yes, I belly hooked the bucket, I slipped over to the dark side 
..and it was good. 
And NO, Craig's ground crew was not as nice as yours. I haven't seen "C.S." yet this year, but "I.T." was flying with us all winter...with a beautiful 6 month old boucing baby boy on her lap. Dale and Her are in Mexico as we speak, after an incredibly good winter of Skiing at Chatter Ck.

NICE PIC 407.....
But did you have the ping pong machine set on 4 fast!!!...does a pretty good job....i was doing some incendary work with NPWS at jindabyne ( snowy mountains NSW australia) in 2003 fire season and we smoked up a few ridges and spurs on 4 fast late one afternoon and the next day all machines were gounded till 300pm due smoke....i wasnt very popular that day due to no wind and operators not making any tunover.......but hey i was only doing my job!!!

Thanks BT, I'm not sure what the AIDS settings they were using that day, as I was at another heli-pad on the 212.
The fire indicies were quite low, so it took some effort to light anything.
How are your 407 hours coming along?

Getting a few hours in now, and loving it!..coming from a 206 background the performance difference is quite outstanding, it will be interesting when the bring in the HTS 900 engines to see the performance.
