choppersafari.
Thanks for your concerns about download times but it would be good to see more detail and we can cope with slightly bigger pictures if you have them.
Feel free to post more pics of the animals you were working with - I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd be interested to see them.

Look forward to seeing the MASH 47 pics. In the meantime, how about some pictures of heli ops in Pennsylvania? There are some unusual/unique sights in your part of the State.

______________

NB: Interesting pictures taken from helicopters are as welcome as pics of helicopters.

Optical illusion.
If you concentrate on the picture for 20 seconds a helo appears in the background.

The shots from Bronx and CanajunEh? are a difficult act to follow...

So I'll go for dead-boring instead.

Some pics from where I live and work now:

My current type, with a USN SH3 in the background.

Italian Army AB412.

Battle-damaged OH58D awaiting transport out-of-theatre.

Kuwait in a nutshell

The site you're using to host your photographs doesn't allow direct links so they won't display consistently.
I've hosted them for you.

Two thoughts:

1) If you're in a tank with the wrong flag painted on the side you're having a really bad day

2) If you're a (iraqi) farmer, get your old gun and shoot that multi-million dollar weapons platform out of the sky (it happened before)

Great photo though!

More Zululand Rhino Capture Pics

More Game Capture Pics From Zululand, South Africa

Here are some more pics, this time from a black rhino capture ops for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Black Rhino Range Expansion Project.
A Russian owned MIL-8 helicoper normally used for fire fighting ops was used to lift the 1000Kg rhinos out of the Wilderness areas, where there are no roads and no motorised transport is allowed.
Pilots are Richard Brodie and Anatoly ?, and flight engineer is Peter.

MIL-8 just after landing in the bush near the darted rhino to drop off the ground capture team who have gone to prepare the rhino for lifting ...

Rhino in the net on the ground in Imfolozi Game Reserve just before lifting ... Mil-8 taking up the slack ...

MIL-8 cockpit - Pilots Richard Brodie and Anatoly on route overhead the Imfolozi Wilderness to where the rhino has been darted ...

MIL-8 just preparing to lift the darted rhino from an open grassland in the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park Eastern Shores wilderness area ...

Sedated black rhino in the net ... Mil-8 transitioning to forward flight on route to the Eastern Shores temp base ....

Pilots, rangers and ground crew the Mpila Camp soccer field in Imfolozi Game Reserve ... overcast Wx ... checking all equipment before first flight ... note very clean

(brand new) net (didn't stay like that for long!) ...

Cheers till next time ... more to be posted later ...

I think this took place in Afganistan, the Mexican Air Force tried exactly the same think with one of their Mi26's but they were trying to pull out a downed Mi17 instead a Chinook, and let's just say that after that try, they had to truck BOTH aircraft out of there in pieces.
