Dai, if you mean the one in Wales (is there another where you are in Aotearoa?) then no - NLB only covers the Scottish and Isle of Man lighthouses. The ship was en route from the Pentland Skerries to Kirkwall in the Orkneys when the pic was taken.

Yeah. I meant the Welsh one. Must be experiencing some longing for the green, green grass of home?

Your faith in the salt crust must be pretty good!

Taken me a long time to get around to posting pics on here.... Hope you enjoy them. All of them taken in Northern Aus, some in the NT, some from the Kimberly in WA.

Landed on KQII Cruise boat. Holds around 18 Pax. Landed on the boat while it was right at the bottom of King George Falls. The Falls are just around the corner infront. Pilot Accom. situated under the pitot. Bring own Bedding. Flew in and out of there at the end of the Wet season while falls are in full flow. Approx. 100nm northwest of Kununurra

Landed in a small gorge on Bullo River Station, over near western Border of NT/WA. Just for a swim.

Got a lot more ..just need the time to sit and upload them.

Just a few more for now....

Landed just north of Mitchell Falls overlooking Mitchell River.

Flying out over Prince Frederick Harbour, Northwest Kimberly. The little white speck to the left, in Pirosis Ck is the boat that was pictured in the earlier post with the helideck, just to get some idea of scale. Amazing coastline for hundreds of miles. Hence the willingness of a lot of Pilots to work for a lot less than other places, and put up with camping for 8 months..... Absolutely the best part of the country I have ever flown over.

"Your faith in the salt crust must be pretty good! "

The trick is not to just plonk it down. Quite often it is a thin crust, in this case very solid. A gentle touch then a good thump or two, to see if you are going to break through.

Part of a long ferry from Mt Isa to Melbourne, via Kalgoorlie!

No salt there, just sand.

Sometimes you get lucky - Lifted all of this crap to the top of a mountain in beautiful weather, & a week later it was snowin' & blowin'!!!

Interrupted my fishing long enough to take a photo of a passing Moose.

Thumbs up

I agree with the last 2 posts - there are some excellent pictures on this page, they really do justice to the places you've been and the things you've done. Thanks for posting them

Jealous

Chopperpug I'm jealous. I spent a few days on hoilday at Mitchell Falls Plateau in 2004.
I looked at applying for a job out there, but I would miss my family too much and I wouldn't want to move them to KNX just so that I can see them for 4 days once a month.

But is having a close knit family really my loss?
Still, I miss the view... Ahh aviation!
