As the Big Ben said to the leaning Tower of Pisa, "I've got the time, if you've got the inclination."
Do you REALLY not know how to derive time from distance and speed? Or how to look up a book to find the conversion factors?
Or just too bone lazy, just ask it here and somebody will do the work for you?
Time = distance/speed. Thirty miles divided by thirty knots equals one hour.
Look up the rest yourself, or just wait. It will come.

Speed =distance/time, so time=distance/speed

lb=kg*2.2

km=nm*1.852 (so kts to km/hr same multiple)

No idea about last one!

Edited to add: I tend to agree with the above. Surely you aren't flying something but can't work out time and distance relationships?

This is an online log book; you can go to aviation suppliers and buy log book softwware to install on your own PC if you'd prefer.

There are also plenty of online conversion packages; try

When you say you have the speed, is this true airspeed, indicated airspeed or ground speed? You may need to factor in wind velocity and, for this, you'd want a whizz-wheel aka flight navigation computer.

Cheers

A hunch about this request led me to look at ASV’s previous posts.

They have been requests for –
(an image of) “the CFS(H) Crest”
“Information & photo for a helicopter with ice on it”

“I'm new with nvg & i need the max information about anything that can help”

“Computerized hours logging system”
“Software that calculate the moon level and phase for the NVG flying”
“A study between different types of FLIR to choose the best one for the helicopter in general.”
“NVG video or clips."
Hmmm.

I know these new MI5 & MI6 recruitment campaigns are a touch cryptic and turn up in the most spurious places but this one really is a doozy. Is this guy for real ?

Ed Williams' Aviation Formulary is one of the internet's treasures, but if one can't get time from speed and distance, I feel it's going to be entirely wasted. If, OTOH, one has a basic grasp of mathematics and some basic computer programming knowledge, it's priceless.

I am ready for when ASV asks for an ordanance survey map for a polar crossing.

Or maybe this person would feel lost if we started quoting how to calculate "departure" or maybe the 1:60 Rule. Blimey...fancy asking on a "Professional forum" what the Speed / Time formula is. Has this person not heard of a CRP-5 or equivelant machine...or maybe a mobile phone?

Next question will be wether s/he needs to fly a great circle track from Gatwick to Shoreham or a rhumb line track..

I smell a rat.....or a Microsoft Sim ATPL.

FP - Touche

MD - Your CRP-5 skills MUST have improved if you're using the front side now.
Perhaps ASV could ask you to clarify the difference in flying either a great circle or rhumb line track from Gatwick to Shoreham with regards to speed, distance, time, heading etc etc

In fact which did you fly recently? GC or RL?????

Play nice now

Hmmm

FP/Flingingwings

Ah ladies, i see the fun police are here...well it is obvious, the quickest way to the ATPL is via Microsoft Sim. I myself having, on many a torturous night with a few beers in hand flown single pilot B747 to Hong Kong in actual time, just to boost the hrs in my log book. Man i learned alot from those sorties.

Point taken, one shall wind neck in and apologies to ASV for being discurteous.

And the answer to Flingingwings question is that the GC and the RL are the same going southwards, so i could choose either since it is the same line. The front of the CRP-5 is is more fun, i have to admit, but gets used very little these days. The trusty calculator is quicker and saves on the RSI of the thumb muscles

Kind Regards

MD
