So Whats Wrong With Bristows Mauritanian Operation
Can Someone out there shed light on why guys have left or are leaving Bristows Mauritanian operation.
Thought it would be a good posting, Nice weather, 4 on 4 off.

Bursting Tyres
Can only concur with SAS; as long as the man of the bursting tyres is in any operation, pilots will always leave. The Bristow dinosaurs will never admit to it because he's one of them

Ah, zat delightfool little Fwench Viscomte with his oh so charming smile and ze big dagger of an assassin. One of the most cowardly, treacherous, deceitful men I have ever had the displeasure of meeting.
The two that I know are leaving are going to Kenya (well one to Den helder after that).

Having been able to see copies of the staff lists for the mauritanian operation for the past 2 years, I would honestly say that for the size of the operation, there has been a far bigger turnover of both aircrew and engineers, than any other Bristow base worldwide.
Having a quick count up, I can recall 7 pilots and 7 engineers (4 of which were chief eng's), and from what I've heard through the jungle drums, the exodus hasn't finished yet.
I believe that Mauritania is a very nice place, which should have people queueing up to go there, and it's about time someone in Bristow management started asking why there isn't.

It seems the Gulder induced state you lingered in for so long is beginning to wear off. Until recently you had tiny little Red Helicopters running in your veins....and you seem to be seeing much more clearly now. You on the Twelve Step program now-a-days?

There the ones that are going, Oh forget the Beach side Hotel my info is its a nice 30 year old Rig but you still get your sea view all 360 degree's of it.
What of the ones Im told have gone before them !! Ring any bells IB,GL,RUP,MING,STOLL,YERB to name but a few.
What of the ones who have tried to leave but have been thwarted.
Nice warm location North of OZ
I don't think i will persue any openings any way because I feel I would fail at the first hurdle you see "I AINT FRENCH"

Sounds like your PM came from the same source as mine.
Reading between the lines, I don't think the latest casualty "walked" of his own accord, but more a case of jump or get pushed.

It was suggested that I reply to this thread anonymously but I was open with the company so I will be open with you guys.
I was the Engineer concerned and ML I did not Jump I Walked.!
I endeavoured to take advantage of the Companies " My door is always open policy" pop in and have a chat, So I advised both the Operations Manager & the Head of HR of the ongoing problems I had encountered in Mauritania, I also raised several Serious Flight Safety Issues.
This was nothing they and other senior management (PB) had heard before on there visits in country.
Let me clarify one point before I go any farther, NON of the Flight Safety issues raised relate to any of the Few remaining carde of company pilots who have being on the operation since its onset, I have always found they have operated in a most Professional manner often under the most difficult of circumstances.
The results of my actions, Well it appears the main Problem still exists, I say Problem in the singular as that is how it manifests its self Singular, Short, Stocky, & French.
As for the Flight Safety issues raised well I guess the Monthly AAIB reports will reflect those.
Lessons Learned :
1. It appears Flight Safety takes second place to Profit Related Bonus Schemes.
2. That open door leads to a Travel Agent with only Two locations on the books NIGERIA or the JOB CENTRE I chose the later.
I think one of the new Pilots sums up the situation in Mauritania, when asked how he found himself there, His reply " IM CHEAP"
Anyone need an A+P EASA LAE 212/412 Willing to travel.

Remember him rearranging flights, getting picked up in a Texaco 212 on Funiwa and getting dropped off in Shell on the way back to WT, saying he would sort it all out with Shell. Aforementioned female and army escort waiting at WT and told they must have wrong information, 212 has skids so no burst tyres onboard. He arrived back at Edewor with a Navy bodyguard later that night. Amazed he's still around screwing with people's lives. Who does he still have the dirt on in RH Towers that he's still around? 
Do you also recall that anyone he perceived as a threat was quickly knifed by the 'smiling assassin'? Think of poor old Captain Helmet, 'Lampshades' who was quickly sent on his way (not) rejoicing, the first time the exploded tyre returned from Mauritania. Then he took against old Bob and he left. Oh yes, apart from Tony, (I think he liked his cooking!), everyone he regarded as a possible threat (that's to say almost anyone, as he was so inefficient) was despatched. The only good point about him was that everyone else was united by their common loathing of the man. It will be iteresting to see if anyone ever comes up here and says what a nice guy he is. He used to be a firm favourite of Gasping H, but he's gone now. Surely somebody, somewhere must love him
