I cannot comprehend anyone wishing to apply for a postion in Mauritania after all that you have read in the previous threads but a few of the following Qualifications would not go amiss.
1. Be very cheap a definite door opener
2. Have never seen a 212
3. Speak more than one Language not necessarily English
4. Have off Shore Experience ( landed on an Island once ) that will do
5. Hold a License any License !!!! its only Africa
6. Oh yes be French thats a good plus

I flew with him when he was a 'mere' line pilot in Eket in the late eighties. A pleasant chap in the bar and quite good company when trying to remember which structure was where offshore Eket. Obviously, 'high office' changes a person. He was jokingly referred to as the French Count with no 'O' to his face and he laughed~probably wouldn't now, by the sound of it!

They have 2 houses for all pilots and engs which are clean and comfortable, with all rooms having a/c and wifi broadband, usual TV sat DVD system. Everything is in walking distance i.e. cafes,restaurant,bars. The place is very safe and easy going.
The weather is generally CAVOK but hot, very hot! The engineering is faultless, great bunch of guys.

Mauritania is manned by some really good guys, doing a professional and safe job. Most of the staff who left the operation left for career advancement or family reasons and nothing to do with the RUMOUR that has been set up on this old thread, and this is FACT.
I know UWOT very well and he has caused his own problems again FACT, so stop bitching and get a life.

Well, it's taken the better part of a year, but to be totally honest, even this is far quicker than I expected to see it!

Yes, a lot of the people who left officially stated that it was for career advancement or family reasons, due to the simple fact that if they stated that it was due to the person concerned, they knew that they would be on a hitlist for as long as they remained with BHL.
As for UWOT. If he did cause his own problems, ( I don't know the full story), why wasn't the laid down company procedure followed in removing him from the operation? and why didn't AT have the balls to confront him face to face in the meeting at Redhill. If AT felt his reasons were justified, the least he should have done was to give UWOT a chance to respond personally to any accusations against him.
It will be interesting to see if anyone ever comes up here and says what a nice guy he is.

Yes I guess pointing out to the company the dangerous situation they were allowing to manifest its self in Mauritania by the hiring of Pilots whose main credential was that they came cheap could in some peoples eyes be deemed self inflicting.
But if you enjoy flying around with people who 1. Cannot converse in the same tongue as you fine "enjoy" or 2 A guy who can't manage a flight of stairs due to his medical condition " Oh he was only temporary ain't that right Mr Medlin at least that what you said " Or 3 Flying the line with a co-pilot who had yet to finish his schooling on the 212 because Peter Barnes was otherwise engaged. fill your boots pal.
If you know me as well as you say, Then you should also know I take my job seriously when it comes to safety. In 30 + years in this business Ive never had anyone refuse to fly in an aircraft Ive maintained or Ive flown,
and if you do know me you must have flown in aircraft that Ive been responsible for,
Don't forget Heliman when you fly off In one of my aircraft and don't come back because a simple cockpit emergency esculates into a major accident because you can't get your Co-Pilot who's understanding of the English language is limited to function as he should, Im the poor bugger that has to face the AAIB,
So don't you think I had some small right to raise such issues about the companies policy of hiring pilots who's abilities fall well short of the what use to be a high standard.
Ask yourself this Heliman what had I as an engineer to gain by pointing out to Seabrook and Medlin the errors in BHL pilot recruiting . A good nights sleep.

Your'e all absolutely correct. Where Tyrebusrt is concerned there's no such thing as fairness or correct company procedure. For many years, he's moved from one operation which he's run as entirely his own little empire to another, with no comebacks from Bristow. He must have been responsible for the loss of more employees from that company than any other Chief Pilot in the last 20 years. He has no cojones and has never faced up to any of those he has assasinated with his poisoned memos which have resulted in too many people being forced out by cowboy tribunals of dubious legality. As long as he's employed by Bristow they will be seen to still be living in a previous time when dinosaurs walked the earth and having a so-called 'Human Resourse' department which is a sick joke

Is is becos I is fixed-wing? Anyway, I once gave this fellow you are all reviling a letter to mail once he got to Washington D.C. on leave, addressed to my aged mother, who lived in one of the suburbs. (She thought I was a piano-player in a cat-house, yes.)
He actually called my mother up and invited her to dinner at his place. She went and enjoyed an excellent meal to came away with the impression that he was a fine fellow. Try as you might, I don't think you can find anything unkind in that. What he's like on the job, I have no certain idea but there must be at least two sides to the man, one good. Go figure....

There are many sides to Tyreburst, but the only charming one he shows is to some non-Nigerian ladies.. Amongst his other sides are the writing hand for penning poisoned letters and memos about people; the fleshy lips for hiding the fangs when he pours out his venom about his co-workers behind their backs; the key hand for opening his workers rooms when they're at work and prying through their personal effects and mail; the thick skin for ignoring any criticism which comes his way; the shifty eyes for ignoring any eye contact when he's lying to his co-workers; the smooth gallic-accented voice for smarming up to his bosses . Oh yes, there are so many, many sides to Tyreburst he's like an evil kaleidoscope
