Thanks again for the comments,
I took the pic about 18 months ago. I had the door off and was leaning out of the aircraft a little. If my memory serves me correctly, which it often doesn't, I used a 20mm lens. Note the slight curvature of the horizon. You may well be able to get that photo through the window but reflection off the window may be a problem.
Sprocket : I realise your query was tongue in cheek but that's about the altitude we do our scenic flights at, although we are usually a little closer to the Rock. Our flights are conducted within the National Park and the park has guidelines pertaining to where and how high, or more accurately how low, we can fly.
As for the 'model', she married one of our other pilots and they moved the Cairns to live happily ever after! Sorry fellas!!
Cheers,
Hollywood

That is a GREAT picture! I really love seeing those real "helicopters at work" pictures on the thread!
Your picture makes that other picture of a CH46 in Afghanistan picking up passengers like a piece of cake, at least the CH46's guys had a place to set their wheels on! Plus I am sure the Autopilot/SAS on the 46 is better and made it much more easier.
Well I am now off to the Carribean until the 10th, I hope find some other great pictures when I come back.

Just another day in paradise.
Believe it or not, this was a posting for some of the troops!
So we just had to pay them a visit of course!
The keen eyed amongst you will notice the engine cowlings removed. This was done at base because of a faulty catch.
Sitting at the OP overlooking Guatemala.
The border is the river to the left of shot.

Thank you to all who contribute to one of the highlights of my month. I really look forward to seeing these photos, the clarity, composition, and color is amazing. And the subject matter isn't too bad either. Especially this lovely young lady.

Kenya
Mt. Kenya (17,057ft) in the background of the HLS.
A lovely backdrop for a few 'wets' at the end of the day.
On the way up the mountain.
12,000ft 1013 (FL120!)
Note TQ limits now set to 65% & 70%

Destination, Lake Alice @ 12200ft
Apparently good for fishing?
Makes for interesting approaches, well, the last 30ft anyway!
Its dark out there, away from the perimeter lights!
