Oh surely, the sylph like figure on the left is the one you mention. His co pilot, she of the angelic shape, is likely to have been no more than a glint in her father's eye during the wars that SASless enjoyed...
On the broader point, there is an amazing fascination amongst the general public in many countries of the world for the Huey. "The sound of freedom" as the blades slap. The association in the publics eye with rescue, and heroism.
Let's not melt them all down into pots and pans like we did with the classics from the past - if you see one about to be trashed, try and get a group to save it.
If you need any more motivation, remember that Spitfires could be bought for the price of a saloon car in 1950. Last time I looked they are going for UKL1.5 mil.

Spotted it again going along the coast at Brighton today heading west/east around 1120ish.

When I heard from SASless at the weekend, he'd taken the Huey to Blackpool (where it will be based) and the plan was to stay there until the Redhill airshow on the 14th.

Pretty sure it was it but the big man himself told me they were not around Brighton at that time.
There is definately a similar shaped helicopter down here, I am not a spotter so don't really know but I have seen one that looks pretty similar to this twice over the last week. Does anyone have any idea what it could be?
Redhill will be the next port of call for them down this way so hopefully if I can get the sunday off I will go and say hello

Taf knows his beans! Correct about the tail rotor and chain style control linkage. Ever wonder how many bracelets and watch chains were made out of the things?

What a cracking job, a well done to the chaps that worked on the restoration. I look forward to having an opportunity to get up close if it comes over the channel. It’s great that it’s in Europe as I am sure that the few drivers that were not American will love an opportunity to look listen and remember.

If I had known it was you in the offices of LHC I'd have said hi! T'was also me in the R22 who you kindly held for while I lifted and taxied out, so thanks - it's not often I get to taxy past a hovering Huey!

Bit of Sunday flying today...from Blackpool area....down south a bit to show off Huey. Landed at Oxford for fuel going down and Coventry on the way back north.
Met a bunch of guys dressed in desert camo....lots of guns....some guy named Ross Kemp who looked like he could use some soap...friendly guy.
Had a nice day watching a BBC film shoot...lovely lunch in the canteen. Photos to follow.
Whirls.....if we swing through Norwich next week should we include Ross for you?
