I hear there's been another 'churning event' but that the new RFM procedures seemed to work well and the aircraft recovered to base without further drama. Any more info on who it was? I assume BHL?

I gather it was a Bristow machine en-route back to Scatsta. MGB Pressure drop and temperature rise, INPUT 2 HOT and ACC 2 HOT cautions. Number 2 throttle brought back i.a.w. the new RFM procedures and problem stopped. Throttle restored on final and problem started again.

I'm sure there will be a lot of HUMS data analysis going on at the moment!

It looks like we have a failure mode that can be regularly introduced during a training flight, but can't be replicated in the simulator.

Those TRE's are damn clever

Can someone try and make this work the other way around - please

Canadian/Jamaican VIP S-92 ?

Have heard that Michael Lee-Chin Billionaire Canadian/Jamaican and Exec chairman of AIC Limited has got a VIP S-92 for use in Canada/Jamaica ,does anyone know where it will be based, which country rego it will have and who will operate/Maintain it?
I asume it will operate on Canadian rego and be based most of the time in Ontario Canada but would like to know more.

I've been told that because of all its problems in service the S92 may be subject to an independent FAA Special Certification Review (as has just happened to the Eclipse business jet). Apparently the S92 certification has all the same charecteristics - such as a hurried certification to meet a management deadline and a lack of key specialists on the team.

Zalt, interesting news. I tried to PM/e-mail you but I see you don't accept them. If you could PM me I'd appreciate some background info to this.

Unless this is confidential, perhaps ZALT can share the source of this info with 'other' Rotorheads as well.....

Could this simply be another drive-by rumor initiated by a wannabe S-92 carbon-based stick actuator?

I hear there's an ASB requiring the MGB Oil Pumps to have their NRVs removed to slow down the churning in the event of a failure. The -103 becomes the -104 (or -103 lite or maybe -102 plus!)

There's an RFM amendment coming out too, something along the lines of "don't worry about the smoke chaps - it's not the MGB failing, it's just the paint burning off the outside..."

These non-grandfathered Part 29 Amdt 47 a/c are great. When does Amdt 48 come out?

I can see now why Westland opted for the 3-4000 hour contracted out hours building process in the mid '90....

Zalt - if you hear any more, let us know please...
