CHC/Aero is flying the 2 EC225s and they're crewed and maintained mainly by French men. The fixed wing side has sort of split with ACN but on the rotary side - who knows? Somebody, but they sure as hell aren't telling the guys and gals in the mushroom compost . With Bristow apparently having got Agbami 2 of the S76s (BCX and BIV) may be off contract when the Bristow S92 arrives later this month.
Meanwhile, there is a lot more to be played out with Bristow and national pilots. That fool 'Foamy, Kill-em, Coolings' has decided to throw kerosine on a fire which was dying and doubtless his co-conspirator Mike, Himmler, A$$lick' who returns to Nigeria today will will help him make a nuclear explosion out of a matchstick . I hope for wiser, cooler counsel to prevail but when you have a donkey like A$$lick, an assassinator like Coolings and poorly led and advised young men all in the same room the sparks which may fly could ignite a conflagration which all involved may be unable to extinguish. I pray that all the parties to the Bristow dispute will keep cool, talk and act reasonably and find a compromise acceptable to all.
So, Wrenchturner, wait small to see what will finally come out of the melting pots which are Aero and Bristow now. By the start of 2009 we all hope that the way forward will have been decided and that peace and progress will prevail in both companies. There is so much work and potential in Nigeria now and we all hope the policy makers will demonstrate the patience of Job and the wisdom of Solomon to get both of the major players on the Nigerian helicopter scene back on course again.
Remember, there is a watcher in the wings, Caverton Helicopters, who stand to gain from all of this. They don't really deserve to, but if Bristow and Aero continue on their present courses, they certainly will.

affluent,
Technically they're not on strike, just not going in to work. The dispute is to do with a cut in allowances paid to pilots since the changes to pay and conditions which were announced by the company from September 1st. Hopefully it'll all be settled today.

Eket
National pilots went back to Eket yesterday. Whether they'll work or not only time will tell. Big Pow Wow with Union and management planned to thrash it all out.
Are they going to get (or take) any punishment for walking away from their work ? Not something that happens every day in aviation. Nobody disagrees with their complaint but nobody supports their action. Isn't that what unions are for ?

GMIA,
Is their complaint common to the expat pilots or a national issue? If it is a notional only issue then what are the chances the union will get them to down tools throughout the company/country?
Ah, how I miss all that...............

Wait a little bit, one month perhaps. I got a feeling that there are some drastic changes about to take place within the Aero fixed-wing structure. Things aren't as they appear

Oh ye of little faith!!!
ACN operated very well for years before CHC came into the picture, and I dare say will continue to operate very well long after CHC has left the building.

Bristow National Pilots
Pilots meeting with Management today to try and iron out the problems which caused the Eket guys to walk out last week. They've done it right this time and involved the union so any outcome will be across the board.
Boss of Bristow Shell Rotary Wing also in Lagos. Could this be the beginning of some changes in Management ? Not before time !! Boss of Eket must be waiting for the call too ? They deserve it.

Management Style!!!!! 101
Does the management know who u are ??????
Himelich walked into the Bristow Hangar and noticed a guy leaning against the wall, doing nothing.
He calmly said to the young man, "How much do you earn?"
"I earn $2000.00 a month, Sir. WHY?" Without answering, Armlick took out his wallet, and gave him $6000.00 cash saying, " Around here I pay people for working not standing and doing nothing!!! Here is 3 months salary, now get out and Don't come back" and the young man disappeared.
Noticing onlooking engineers, the GM said "that applies to everybody in this company" He approached one of the greenies and asked him " who's the guy I just fired?"
The guy replied "He was the pizza delivery man, sir."

Dangagan,
Don't get me wrong here, I do not mean to imply that CHC is the end of all ACN's problems, quite the contrary.
Remember that before CHC there was Schreiner to keep the ship pointing forward and if CHC does indeed leave the building, who will step up to the plate then?
