It's interesting that if you drink Star in the same bottle in Ghana, the bottle looks the same, the beer tastes pretty much the same, but you don't seem to get the same headache. I wonder what the difference is, since both are presumably brewed by Heineken subsidiaries in breweries not too far apart

Had four cans of Star delivered from Lagos Nigeria two days ago, never seen Star in cans before!!, tasted pretty good, but then I remember my first Star in 1977 when I tried to get to the end of the Bristows Starograph hanging in the Bush Bar.

Of course I have done this! In fact, sometimes I would do it just to get rid of the glycerine.
Satzenbrau, now that was an instant headache in a bottle! God only knows what they put in that. I could never drink more than two or three of those...
Later on I used to drink Beck's, but that was after I became an aviator. Nowadays it is back to being a pilot and drinking nice, warm mineral water, sigh... Reality checks are a bitch!

Having done the upend trick many times and not having had a Star for a while I didnt wait to do it before I drank two cans, Patti my wife drank the other two so evidence destroyed and too late to do the experiment.but it sure is nice stuff, you can also now get export Star in London!!

At last this thread is onto and interesting subject, Star Beer!!
Its 32 years since I last drank one, but I'll not forget my chronic heartburn after two or three bottles, now all is explained!
....I am living proof that Formaldehyde is a great preservative!

I am in Munich, (the beer is better) Chief Engineer for BMW Flight Service for 10 more weeks before I'm put out to pasture!
Looking for a Gulfstream II, III, IV, V, VSP job for a couple of years, NOT Nigeria, Saudi, Iran. Any leads welcome!

Bristow Nigerian Pilots Strike
It had to happen with the great new management team at Bristow in Nigeria and now it has. National pilots in Eket and Calabar are on strike. I wonder how many cups of coffee it will take and to make up for the lost revenue from this 
. No doubt it will be more than made up for by the popular change in how CLA is paid which must have saved at least $500 a year

The strike is now over and everyone really busy catching up with everything they didn't manage to do yesterday. I even heard that coffee is now free at the BRC so maybe things are looking up

I guess I spoke too soon. The strike isn't over. Well, technically it isn't a strike, the Nigerian pilots at Eket and Calabar just aren't at work. In fact I don;t think they're even in Eket . Still, I'm sure that Foamy Coolings with his usual tact and diplomacy will pour oil on the troubled waters of the Bristow ship of state and have all the happy workers happily back at work in a matter of days if not years
