Got rejected too.

Disappointing but in the end of the day I always preferred the modular route, getting all my licenses, flying mates around, and having the freedom of choice with where I go next.

Thank you :) I'm sure you'll smash it when they re-open recruitment again later in the year!!! If it doesn't come off this time for me this time around I will just keep applying.
Based on my score I think they probably did place the most importance on the digital interview, I have cabin crew experience/currently work for an airline so I imagine that played a factor for me at least somewhat.
+ I'll let you know how it goes, I doubt we'll be allowed to share any specific questions etc but I'll share as much as we are able to!

I feel nervous too, but 2 months is a lot of time to prepare :) I picked 22nd, have you had your booking confirmed yet? I sent the email but haven't heard anything back

Have you completed your ATPL exams then? Or CPL?
I thought one of TUI's requirements was that you are not allowed to have completed these exams in the FAQ section.

Yeah, they got back to me in 20 minutes confirming I was booked on!

I know it sounds silly, but did you email the right email address? The email address that they sent the invite from is different from the one they want us to email to book in, just wanted to check in case you had clicked reply on the original email instead.

I did complete ATPL exams but in Austro Control. I made it very clear that I have got the exams in both CV and the digital interview.

!!!!e, I didn't get the email. I emailed them 14 mins after I have received the email from them, and yes, to the correct email address. Triple checked later lol

OK, I hope I will hear from them on Monday, really nervous now that I was too late replying. When did you email them? Did the status of your application changed? Mine still says 'In Progress'

In the FAQs on the website it states that those who have completed their ATPL ground exams can apply:

"Yes, you may apply, however, we’re unable to credit any previous exam passes so these will be repeated as part of the course."

I’m struggling to understand my downfall and am wondering if you could offer me some insight. Out of curiosity,

1. Was your CV more than one page?
2. Did you have any previous flying experience? PPL?
3. Had you already completed the ATPL studies?
4. Did you use the option to re-take your videos in the interview?

When applying, I was about to sit my first module of ATPLs and therefore could not make note on my CV that I had some subjects already under my belt.

1. My CV was 1 page
2. I have got PPL with about 160 hours under my belt
3. I have got Austro Control ATPLs, average 96% (and no, I didn't just hit bank, I actually used bank not long before exams)
4. Yep, I did retake the video couple of times, still wasn't fully happy with it though, but it was good enough

Hmm... your experience is similar to mine in terms of hours, I also have got a degree in Aerospace Engineering. I don't thing 2 pages CV made any difference, 2 pages is what is widely acceptable and it is the content and experience that matter. It a shame they cannot provide a feedback on the digital interview. Maybe work on that and try applying next year! And do you exams in mean time. 87% is really good - congratulations!

Yeah, I will have to do the exams again if I am successful.

I did not get through to the assessment stage, I was a bit gutted, but not massively surprised considering the number of applicants. I read the generic feedback on the email they sent me, and I basically I was guilty of everything on there so I am definitely not surprised I did not proceed further in the application process.

I had no idea what t expect from the 3 online assessments and I am usually really good with stuff like that, so I just cracked on without preparing properly, I had not slept well, and I had been out drinking the night before, I performed averagely across the board. I then (like an idiot) thought the interview would be audio only, and was dismayed to see that it was a video interview once I had already started, I was wearing casual clothing and not really in the best / quietest area to do it. Considering all that I was going to reapply in 6 months and prepare properly. However I must admit, seeing your post is making me doubt whether that wouldn't just be a waste of time. Based on the experience and qualifications you have and you unfortunately not getting to the assessment centre stage makes me think someone like myself would have no chance. I have zero flying experience (yet) and currently work in finance, with a degree level qualification in the industry but nothing relating to aviation.

Perhaps taking myself off to flight school will be my only hope but at 41 year old I guess I am running out of time to achieve my lifetime ambition.

Hi Will...I got my rejection email (sigh) but I've checked my TUI account and can't find my status report where I'm guessing it will say closed, can you give me any info as to where I can find this so I can get some closure on this. Many thanks in advance.

Don't give up and think you won't have a chance my friend. I've made it to the assessment centre hold pool and hopefully I get a date soon. I also work in Finance and do not have any flying experience yet. If I have been able to make it past this stage then there's no reason why you can't too. I do have age on my side (25) but even at 41, an airline can get a good 20-ish years or so out of yourself so I don't think they would discriminate just yet. If anything your age could work in your favour because of the life experiences you will have gone through.

Obviously, it's good you're aware how to improve for next time, wear smart clothes for the interview and try to do the best you can in the assessments although it does seem there is a heavier weighting on the digital interview aspect. Perhaps also take a few flying lessons in summer just to start showcasing some motivation.

Thanks D4NPC, you too. I am confident a lot of good pilots will continue to miss out on opportunities like this, on the basis of the online interviews alone. I appreciate often or not this method is more suitable for schemes with mass applications, but I do see more cons than pros when it comes to finding true potential..

Stick at it. Resilience is the key. There will be other opportunities. I got through to the Aer Lingus assessment day before covid, with 1 hour flying experience and my degree. A lot of this is luck of the draw too!

To anyone who progressed to the May assessment day,

First of all, congratulation!
Second of all, does anyone know what 'Case Study' might involve? I understand it being a part of assessments for data analysis/projects/problem solving/business etc positions but I don't see how it fits with TUI assessment, unless I am missing something!

Firstly, congratulations on getting that elusive place on an assessment day! It's definitely an achievement. I was rejected, I'm pretty sure because of my "below average" logical reasoning.

I would interpret a case study in one of a few ways. Firstly, it could be monitoring your ability to extrapolate important information from a document effectively. Then maybe presenting it to show that you understand the information and can effectively communicate it.
Secondly, it could be a different way of saying "group exercise" like many airlines use.
The other thing it could be is a case study of a scenario where role playing may come into action.
It's a new scheme so you'll have to approach things with an open mind, I'd imagine. Plus, I don't actually know anything, obvioulsly, its just how I'd interpret that
