It might depend on the flight school, for FTE it says on their site for their ATPL course that you get one week off after the first stage of ground school at around the week 20 mark. They also close for 2 weeks at Christmas.

Such a shame we still have yet to hear back! So keen to know, and to make sure I can get the time off of work if successful.
This is the furthest i've gotten in a process to date, and it's for my dream airline so I am SO hoping it is good news.

Good luck all

I would imagine they are sifting through and will batch e-mail everyone left at a similar time, possibly.

I have push notifications enabled on my phone so I see when I get an email which means no reason refresh or check.

I'm checking this thread more often to see if you guys have heard anything.

If not, I know I haven't missed anything and if and when you do, I'll know to expect something really soon.

Honestly, every day that goes by I'm getting a good feeling - if we haven't been successful, then surely they would have told us like the others who have completed the PA announcement have already been told.

If we have got through, then why not send a congrats email and say you'll soon hear back with details of the assessment centres/flight schools/virtual assessments etc? This way, at least we all know we're through and it's simply logistics from here on

Has anyone received a rejection in the last week? Based on this thread, it seems like a few went out but they have since tailed off. It seems to me at this point that no news is just no news...

My only counter to this would be that no one in this thread who got to this stage has heard a thing, and unfortunately the chances all of us get through to the next stage are slim. So chances are they haven’t sent a thing, good or bad, to anyone :/

I assume they probably don't know all of the successful people yet. They may still be siphoning through applicants after rejecting the people they know they definitely do not want to do forward with.

What did people opt for? FTE Jerez or Skyborne?

I'm personally quite disappointed in how BA has handled this so far. I have no issue with the fact that they are late, these things happen and I'm sure they are dealing with a considerable amount of candidates + the coordination aspect with the respective flight schools for the assessment centre phase.

However the fact that hasn't been any interim email to say "we're sorry it's taking longer than expected, we now expect to come back to you by..." is poor in my humble opinion. A recruitment process should go both ways, and as an employer they should work to make themselves appealing to candidates, as much as candidates spend hours going through application forms and testing to appeal to them.

Let's hope they put us all out of our misery soon and we finally get an answer on whether or not we are progressing to the assessment centre stage!

Wishing you all good luck!

I got through to the final assessment last year and failed on the joystick exercise. Happy to answer any questions about the process, although some aspects are slightly different from last year.

I think we're all thinking the same thing, but trying to keep our expectations low!

The next stage was assessment day. FTE was in person with 4 tests and a group exercise. Skyborne was online. Then there were 9 psychometric tests. FTE online and Skyborne in person. Then there was an online interview with the flight school. Lastly was the final assessment day for both schools, comprising of 9 competency based interviews, 2 computer tests, one multitasking and one joystick control and a final interview with BA. Hope that helps.
