Also got the same disappointing news earlier! But probably for the best as I will now pursue flying training (modular) at my local flying school at my own pace. It's a shame not to have been given feedback at this mid/late stage, and also that it was the flight school that rejected instead of BA themselves! But oh well.

Good luck to the rest still in the running.

Congratulations, Boeing100 good luck with your final day

Sincere commiserations to all those who received the dreaded email earlier today. It is difficult news but take this in your stride, try your best to stay positive, and build on from what you've learned to come back stronger next year!

I have been invited back to the final stage, so it’s back to preparing, it is! Best of luck to everyone else in the same boat.

Hi, I am planning on applying next year and wanted to know how the interview process is structured. Was it mainly motivational questions like "why do you want to become a pilot" ... ect or questions like "tell me a time where you showed teamwork"... ect. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Anyone unsuccessful this year just got an email titled 'There is new content available for you: Unsuccessful applications' from email [email protected]? Email looks a little dodgy if I'm being honest, just wondered if anyone else had the same email!

Just curious. What base preference did everyone select?

Did anyone pick LGW?

I wonder to which base the majority of the cohort will get allocated to.

I'm not aware of having picked a base yet, I thought that would happen further down the road. At what point in the process did you do that?

When you scanned your GCSE certificates on the iPad at in person stage 2...
There was a section to pick your preferred base

I actually debated this for a while beforehand. I did eventually put LHR but I do think there are some perks to being at Euroflyer at LGW for a new star FO. But tbh if I get offered the job I am not going to complain at whatever base they give me

My thoughts exactly. Possibly why I had no recollection of being asked that question!

I know they were saying the other day the first year cadets who are now finishing up their flight school training are finding their bases about 3 months before actually starting with BA so sounds no matter what you picked for preference you might not know for a good long while anyway.

I think it's quite probable that most people would get their preferred base (assuming the majority chooses LHR), simply based on fleet sizes / demand / pilots per aircraft etc.

BA Euroflyer only has a fleet size of 23 A320s, compared to BA Mainline 120+ A320s. Of course, IAG has a handful of orders for the A320neos - but currently unknown which airlines they will go to.

Decision date

Did anyone get a better idea of when we will hear yes or no from this final stage? I had quite mixed answers from people when I attended waterside. Thanks and best of luck to everyone 🙏🤞

We should be getting an email confirming that all assessments have been completed sometime end of July. We got told final results will be out first week of August.
