Hero Aviation Greece

I want to get myself enroll for zero to ATPL in that school but the problem is that they are asking for 8000 euros just to process an application.I just want to know if anyone got completed their training from there .
Last but not the least they will be charging 49000 euros for the above training with accommodation.

Arrow Visa seekers

If you don't need a visa to go to Greece you don't need to pay an advance..
There are hundreds of people applying to the European schools only to get a visa and not follow the class.
By the Greek law to get a visa as an aviation student between other documents at the embassy will ask you also the receipt of the payment and it must be 30% of the total cost.
The solution is to say that you are going for PPL which is only 4950 euro so the advance is 1500 euro.

Angel hello all!

I went through the same thoughts as anyone would when contemplating studies at a school they know little about especially when it is geographically distant from you.

You can take a gamble or you can do your research....I did a bit of both and found researching private companies, particulary in aviation is virtually impossible unless you find students (past/present) of the academy and ask them of their experience.

Ask for students contact information and speak to them and hear of their experience. If you have any doubts on the genuinity of hero's students then match their contact emails to social networks such as facebbook.

I can totally relate to you as I have been through this head banging experience myself trying to establish if the school is or isn't spam and how far they will take your money to benefit you therefore I have created this account to ensure you get some help with your decision based on the experience of somebody who is a student at this very school.

I am currently a female student of hero-aviation from abroad (NOT a greek national) and can speak to anyone who wishes to speak with me about my personal experience at this school to help you make your decision based on the merits of Hero-aviaition.

You can contact me via a private message through here before you part with your money and I promise to reply with my humble, but honest and unbiased thoughts of this school so you are content with your decision whether or not to study here.

Response to private messages

Hello again,

I've received emails regarding the existance of Hero aviation and can confirm it very much exists and is in the midst of moving to bigger & better premises much nearer to the airport.

And yes, they have english speaking instructors and in fact has one instructor who is from England so excel in the language. Another one of their instructors is spanish but with high level of english hence I have never found communication to be a barrier.

Hero is not a chain company certainly not part of Egnatia aviation thus I cannot comment on that school or any other.

As mentioned before I have never been to any other school hence I cannot speak on behalf of ANY other school be it Greece or UK. I am at HERO, though it remains to be seen for how long and whether I leave all smiles or tears and can only speak of my experiences at this school. I am in the process of creating my own blog detailing my review of the school to help others make an informatve decision whether they want to be part of this school. Once it s done I will post a link here and you can also access it when you input hero aviation in any search engine.

Good day

Hero Aviation Greece

murad009pk I know Hero Aviation and the school is only licensed to offerPPL training. You can check the Greek CAA website for more info at: http://www.hcaa.gr/content/index.asp?tid=542&lang=2. Hero is an RF, that means that it cannot offer any training except PPL although it says it can offer everything. I considered going there myself beacuse the cost is so low but I asked around and everyone told me to stay away, the school is not reliable.

sometimes you need to understand that some things are too good to be true!
there is no cheap pilot training program!
Hero does only PPL and i think have only one ac, no sim no multi engine no real ground school
if you want to be a pilot do it properly or not at all!!
you don't have to go to the most expensive schools but go to a good one to learn something.
for greece it's either

Paying a large sum of money upfront is a bankers job. A banker would not lend 8000 euros to that school without any collateral and without having gathered a large quantity of information.
If your credit is better that the school's one, which is likely if you're able to pay the full training, they should rather place a deposit with you to secure your training than the other way around.
If the school needs to get your money before they have incurred any cost, it probably means that their financial position is not at its best.
On a regular basis, flight schools get bankrupt and students loose their upfront payments.

Are you sure ??

Giving information like this can be a good reason to take you to the court for derogation. But of course you are not going to say who you are and how do you know what HERO AVIATION is, and how many airplanes they have etc...
You look very well informed for the other Greek Schools and the links you send.
Hero aviation is giving the best price and the best quality of training both groung and flight with 4 airplanes and more soon.
And of course is an FTO .
have a look at the link : GR - FTO - 020

56 students from 23 different countries are studing today 19/12/12 and believe me they are all happy.
They are also the reason that we are able to offer the best price (not only in Greece)
If you have the gots let us know who you are..........

What an attitude! Already looking to take people to court after a Pprune statement.....this will be a post to follow!

This resembles a similar atmosphere that prevails in a thread about Ventum Air:
http://www.pprune.org/professional-p...ir-merged.html

The Ventum Air owner basically posting as a student and again as owner, manipulating, threatening to take people to court. Scared students posting positive feedback initially, and once they have nothing to do with the FTO anymore they feel free to inform everyone about the toxic company culture and terrible training.
I am going to sit back and see how this HERO AVIATION story unfolds.....

Wow bullying hero school

It's defamation not derogation and keep your temper down. Threats to court is childish when you have no leg to stand on. This forum is for people to discuss schools and training. Many people know of the way you operate. People, if the offer looks too good to be true then as someone told me who went there it is exactly that. School maybe full with foreign students but they have 2 planes only. One is a show plane c172 never used by students and one is c150 which they use. No simulator, no multis nothing else. But here they are offering atpl which nobody has yet gained there. He offers an unfrozen atpl which any person with a brain will know is impossible for the price he quotes 48,000 euros. he fails to mention The students are not allowed to talk to anybody without consent and forced to say good off the school that is why captain dimos is so sure they will back him up referring us to his current students but not past on his website. Otherwise as many others they will loose the offer they thought was so good. And in a country they hardly know would you choose to be in that situation? After a while you will see that you do pay for your ticket that is supposed to be included, housing and all other extra fees. You end up paying hundred of euros for each flight hour. If you leave by choice or not you do not get a refund back. So telling people on your website to contact your students captain dimos why don't you give us links to the past students who left not happy and let us decide for ourselves if this is a fraud school as we think? Maybe you should change you proud attitude. It's not professional. But then I hear there is a lot of very unprofessional acts in your school! care to tell us off the numerous instructors and students who left without completion? Portos believe me this school is more toxic than ventum air. Here they bribe students with great offers they know they cannot really give then too late students realise months and years later they leave with no money, licence or even hours. I spoke to a couple students who studied here. I was shocked and registered to warn everybody. Be very careful before parting with your hard earned money to a the owner who can sell water to a duck! Ask for past students and instructors or contact me and I will refer you to a few.

Onky difference is Hero FTO are known to target foreigners and women are abused there. Atleast two women left because of this reason. I am shock how this trick fto is still open. I suppose the foreigners are keeping it running. They easy tricked and don't mind how they get their lisense because the training at hero do not follow aviation rules. Remember hero, solos are a must not an option and safety pilots are forbidden by jaa! And students of hero you will regret training this way. It is cheating and only you will suffer later when you try to get atpl.
