It's not mandatory after all.... you are welcome to not decode the TAF should your intellect not be able to handle a plain English paragraph :)

I don't think it matters because soon enough they will use codes again, ones that you have to be gen Y to understand. Lol...

They included a feature that I don't want to use and have the option of opting out of... what bastards.

Cloud Basher, you're right about that. I have trouble with some txt msgs, lol.

METAR Raw Data - It ain't that difficult

Simple (really) de-code:
METAR KABCS 121755Z AUTO 21016G24KT 180V240 1SM R11/P6000FT -RA BR BKN 015 OVC025 06/04 A2990 RMK A02 PK WND 20032/25 WSHFT 1715 VIS 3/4V1 1/2 VIS 3/4 RWY11 RAB07 CIG 013V017 CIG 017 RWY11 PRESFR SLP 125 P0003 6009 T00640036 10066 21012 58033 TSNO $

For something a little less simple, try a SNOWTAM de-code.

Plain language text - not on my flight deck :ugh:

What a great uptake on the new version!

This was at 9:00am this morning! I reckon I saw 50+ aircraft on the map at one stage on the weekend.

I now have the inspiration to purchase a SIM card :)

I particularly like the track function. I spotted a Comanche on there late last night heading from Darwin to Broome at speeds I can only dream of :hmm:

How often are the live track targets updated (position, track and altitude)on my Ozrunways screen?

Squawk7700 15th Jun 2015 01:00

Seems ZWX is being a bit of a trickster as the rego isn't current :-)

piano_player 13th Jul 2015 01:56

where did the CAO's go?

My ozrunways used to have CAOs and CARs and other useful documents, but they have disappeared?

does anyone know how I get them back?

mustafagander 13th Jul 2015 10:07

Piano man I just checked and my subscription has all that stuff. It is the 25th June 2015 AIRAC 1507 issue.

Have you tried to force a database download through the "Cache Management" tab in the "Settings" area? Have you ensured that old copies of superseded database(s) have been deleted to free up space?

Good luck.

Yes you'll need the IFR subscription for those; send us a quick email at help.ozrunways.com if you need some help.

And now Dynon's SkyView system supports OzRunways (and AvPlan....) maps & charts. Top marks to you blokes for this effort!

A question for the Ozarunways blokes: I've had a look through both the Dynon and OsRunways websites and there doesn't seem to be a reference to pricing or where you download the maps from. Dynon refers us to OzRunways, but there is nothing there or in the KB articles on t he help portal.

What are we looking at for pricing and availability of the Dynon maps?

Hey guys -- the maps are ready and have been tested on the Dynon. We are just putting the finishing touches on the website to buy them (they need to be tailored per dynon device). Should be very soon - maybe a couple of days. Bas is on the plane back from Oshkosh now and will finish it once his jet lag allows.

Your other option is to get the data from AvPlan EFB - we also exclusively include geo-referenced DAPs as well (airport diagrams and instrument approach procedures)

We have also the same data for AFS as well - this is usable now in their current software release

OZ RWYS Renewal

I have received a couple of emails advising my OZRWYS (Android) Subscription is soon to expire.

I opted for the Premium Subscription last time (to allow a second tablet), but at $800 for a suitable one (which you cannot replace the battery to extend its service life), I never bought a second Tablet.

There does not appear to be an option to renew OZRWYs, unless its the 'Premium' subscription again.

Do I have to wait for it to expire to be able to renew with 'Basic'?

You'd think a company that writes software could do a better job on their website.

AmarokGTI 26th Feb 2018 00:33

Just email them or contact them on Facebook if you’re that way inclined. They are very quick to reply and helpful.

Ixixly 26th Feb 2018 01:45

I'm with Amarok, just shoot them an email, they've always been extremely helpful for me in the past when I've sought it.
