I used to take my late grandfather for drives around that neck of the woods in the years before he popped his clogs, which was 1989, so it's been there a while now.

As of about 10 yrs ago, there was a very low hour Cessna A185F sleeping it's useful life away in a hangar at Quairading in the WA wheatbelt. It was locally owned, but hadn't been flown for more than 10 years as of around 2000. Couldn't read the rego thru the hangar door gaps. Owners name was, I think, Keevil or Kevill. Often wondered where it is now.

I am aware of another 185 possibly a D model collecting dust in a hangar at JT, that has not flown in many years. :sad:

Re the HS125 at Camden. I believe it was part of an aviation museum which was set up by Harold Thomas.

The aircraft was never part of the Thomas collection which is still located at Narellan. The HS-125 belongs to Graham Onus. If anyone has his ear please beg him to donate the aeroplane to a museum (ANY museum) before it's too late.

Still 4 ex Macair (are we allowed to say Macair now) Saab 340B's parked at at Townsville. Two may be recoverable but the two out on the grass haven't moved (or been maintained) for a long time.

If we are, please specify which Macair you are referring to!

TAP was owned and operated by the Airport Flying School in Canberra. The school closed down at the end of 2004. When the parking bill came in for all the grounded school A/C in June 2006, they were all moved to Yarrawonga, along with 2 x 152, 2 x 172's and a Seminole.

In Cairns a couple of months ago were a Caravan that had taken a swim, a C340 refurbished but owner unable to find work for it, a Chieftain that hasn't flown for years but engines still get run monthly, 2 ATR's, A B727, a Belfast and a Falcon 20! Who knows what is tucked away in the various hangars around the place.

Does anyone remember what happened to a very low time N-rego'd
PA-31-350 first parked at YMMB 20 year ago down near Ausair. Something about money still owed in the USA. I last saw it 10 years ago and looked very sad for a 400 TT A/C.

Big block of faired hardwood down the guts, and extended pads on flap hinges, like little wingtip floats --- wouldn't it have been better to just have a simple gear, instead of equipping the aircraft with "gear up gear"??. ---- but what would you expect from the poms ---- and DeHavilland never really made the transition to all metal aeroplanes, did they ??
