G'day Wiz....

On a certain Island about 75nm N of Derbs??

Its been a while - the last time I was into there was around '84 or thereabouts when I was stationed at Derbs FSU... :ok:

Dunno about the Pawnee, but I'd say it had seen better days....even then!
T'aint still around, as CRW anyhow.

Cheers:ok:

the wizard of auz 28th Jun 2007 05:41

Well, one shot is on an island. the other is further inland.
correct in that the pawnee isn't around any longer..... more details later. :}

Hey Wizard

If we cant guess the type, the where and when of that last one is going to be a little bit hard:}. Some of us are only simple folk:uhoh:

I thought that the composites of the B787 meant that we were going to get super size windows? They look pretty normal to me. Perhaps it's just the way the photo appears.

squawk6969 28th Jun 2007 06:24

KEG

I think you are right, they are not as claimed, or so it appears.

Tin's window's seem bigger!:uhoh:

It was a pleasure to go up the front of this bird whilst she was being taxied, and so great to see her carve up the skies. JB

Warbo 28th Jun 2007 07:46

That Pawnee sure is odd. Oversize tyres, non standard undercarriage, no spray gear or spreader or tow-hook, the cowling is not standard, and there are no leading edge wing root fairings.

Must be a real early model?

Aaaaaah mate now we are showing our age, did a couple of flights in one of them Caravelle thingummys, Series 12 ?? never forget it AND a superb performer it was too. :D

Just look at the size of that flap amd those fences, progenitor to the Concorde:D:D

tinpis 28th Jun 2007 09:55

Yeh Gaunty did a couple of trips on them i nEurope in the 70's,somewhere sunny away from Blighty.I can remember them as being unremarkable and mostly modern feeling to pax in,certainly better than the Viscounts and Brittainias that were around then.

Towering Q 28th Jun 2007 10:07
