Why: It's a Jetstar Destination  |

What's your issue with that in a commercial operation? Care to answer the question put by Mr Fanelli? |

Alot of QF aircraft around the place. I wonder where this is! |
Quote: What's your issue with that in a commercial operation? Must admit that I'm curious too Bentleg.:hmm: Before we leap off down a tangent there is a thread dedicated to this topic. My post there says - Stripes, bars, pips etc in the services are so one can instantly recognise the rank and qualifications of an individual in crisis situations when there is not time to ask or discuss. In civilian life, especially flight training it is a wank (feeding the ego). You should earn your respect by what you do and know - not from the bars on your shoulder. |
I suggest further discussion of the stripes/epaulettes issue could take place in the thread mentioned. Then why did you bring it up here? Do you feel the same way about QANTAS or Virgin pilots? Where do you draw the line, I'm guessing your line is drawn just below where you're at in the industry. |
[rant]
Why the epaulets? Because they're probably required by their employer! :ugh:  :suspect: If the stripes, pips and bars are for crisis situations, why do Defence people wear them at all times? Why not when they go into combat? In fact, it's the opposite isn't it. When they go into combat the rank comes OFF. So much for that theory. [/rant] (Seriously someone needs to look at something for a good ) :ok: :E |
Rant mode and thread drift on.

Towering Q
Are you kidding? It takes a long time to get them to look like that. Nothing worse than fresh new bars, makes you look inexperienced. Anyway, nevermind the bars, what about those mutton chops??? :E |
Why the epaulets? DF. |
Like worn epaulets, the 'mutton chops' probably come with experience. I'm a little suprised there are no 'flavour savers' on board.
Would that be a Navajo/Chieftain they are driving? Pardon my ignorance as I come from the Wichita Kansas camp. |
185sw, my "snail" seems much more determined to go somewhere than yours, which appears to be either lost, demented or p*ssed! DF. |
