it would be perfect for touring around Oz, or the world for that matter... more room in there than a motorhome! hopefully i can find out more about it, is it home built? Kit? factory?

Photo Search Results | Airliners.net

I knew I'd seen it before, in an old aircraft directory when I was younger. It's ugliness struck me, but I believe there is a bed and a table in there, and you 'step up' to the cockpit.

And yes I am an extroadinarily large aerosexual.

Piano Man ... excuse my ignorance, but how the hell do the passengers board those huge amphibs?

Piano Man 8th Nov 2012 20:15

Peuce...ignorance excused. :}

At places like Hamo and Shute Harbour, there are specially made stairs that you wheel up to the side of the floats. With the caravan it is more often than not you use the cargo door for loading rather than the air stairs. The beaver it doesn't really matter. The doors where designed to get 44 gallon drums in and out so passengers aren't to much of a problem.

The Amphibs are quite impressive to taxi around however, especially going eye to eye with 737 pilots.

Piano Man, you are a man of taste. Great shots :ok:

Never mind the passengers - pity the poor refueller who has to refuel the b****y great awkward things!

Piano Man 10th Nov 2012 11:40

Desert Flower: No sympathy for the refuellers. Done by the pilots!

On the water yes, but not when they're being flown across the country!
