O2 on.....well over! :E
:ok:

What have you been playing in there XXX

Arnold E 27th Oct 2012 08:14

Under or over.... ?
I would go under and turn back if it got scarey:eek:

PA39 27th Oct 2012 10:52

Over...there's nothing to run into there!!

VH-XXX 27th Oct 2012 11:07

Nah, nothing dodgey, it was taken a while back on the way past, just an interesting cloud formation.

Over...there's nothing to run into there!!
I can see your point, but I cant quite grasp it.:E

Resting!

Jabawocky 28th Oct 2012 07:31

And you get paid to do this?

We are all jealous:sad:

Piano Man 28th Oct 2012 08:11

(Whispers) Yes...

...and now runs for cover!

PA39 28th Oct 2012 08:14

I was a little vague. Its better to be VFR on top than CFIT after scud running.:(

Capt Fathom 28th Oct 2012 11:13

Piano Man paints a very rosy picture!

However, when the wind is up and the tide is crap, it's all hands on deck!

Like most jobs, there are good days and bad!

:E

Capt Fathom;

So very true...it's very rare the camera comes out on the 25kt plus wind days especially if the plane is dragging you down beach. But when the weather was as good as in the above photo...well it happens to be one of the best jobs going!

VH ZDA
Power Driven Aeroplane with Tailwheel - Fixed landing gear

Manufacturer: DE HAVILLAND CANADA

Serial number: 54-1672
Aircraft first registered in Australia: 30 September 2010
Year of manufacture: 1954
1954? Is that right?

Super Cecil 29th Oct 2012 19:29

Sounds early for such a late serial

I believe ZDA is serial #803 the YY-#### serial was used for military Beavers (Models U-6A and U-6B) with the year making up the first part of the number.

I'm not entirely sure about the history of the serial number designations and how they were spread about the various models but I'm sure there are some people on these forums more knowledgeable than myself that may be able shed some light on this.

Piano Man 29th Oct 2012 22:53

Yep 1954 is correct. Serial number 803. Air Whitsunday have an even earlier one though!

ZDA started out life as an airforce aircraft and on one of her wings you can still see the old bomb mounts.

Wow. It looks so new. Must say, well maintained! :ok:

There must be many stories that have been told about this aircraft.

From the early 1960's - VH-BCG at that time at YBVA - anyone know if this is the same one now restored to RAAF colours here?
