Worn Epaulettes
If you ask the Chieftain Captain ("The Pad"), I think you will find he will say that the worn eapulettes are due to the Tennant Creek heat - flying, loading and unloading Metros!
|
Because in the event of a crash, they know who's ass to kick.
:E We had to wear them while instructing to deferentiate us from the students. I made sure my pair were hand-me-downs and not brand-spankers. (To prevent me looking like something that rhymed with that... ;) ) |
Was just going through the 2007 photo collection prior to the festive season "show and tell" for relatives, and found a couple of good ones.
Early morning, RAAF Base Tindal, Katherine NT: http://photos-b.ak.facebook.com/phot...48137_9658.jpg Strange geological formation to the north-east of Olympic Dam, SA: http://photos-d.ak.facebook.com/phot...96655_9221.jpg Isurava Memorial on the Kokoda Track, PNG: http://photos-d.ak.facebook.com/phot...09583_1340.jpg And, in keeping with the "where was this photo taken" theme (not much to go on, I know!): http://photos-b.ak.facebook.com/phot...48145_2585.jpg And another "where is it", which I am sure that a certain pruner might know quite well! Chuck?:E http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/phot...576920_239.jpg Merry Christmas everyone! The Baffler:ok: |

Nothing worse than fresh new bars, makes you look inexperienced. Of course it's hard to deny that you've had some previous experience as an F/O on the B744. I don't know what I'm going to do if I ever check out as a Captain. It's hard to have 'plausible deniability' then that I'm anything but an old codger! :( |
Strewth:(
Who are they, what AC, what year? http://www.augk18.dsl.pipex.com/Smileys/laughatu.gifhttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y150/tinpis/db.jpg |

Quote: Alot of QF aircraft around the place. I wonder where this is! Geee....:hmm:hmmmm...:ugh:...approaching the taxiway (B6?) from Bravo across to 16L/34R at YSSY? |
An easy destination for the beginners amongst us.
For the pro's - how about aircraft and rego? Should be easy if you are in the know. http://users.netconnect.com.au/~njah1/rw.jpg |
YHBA, looks a little different over the cowl than the usual head out the side eating bugs!!!
Was just a little further down final when i cleaned up a bat one evening. From where you are you'll wanna put some power on and land about halfway down or it's a 5 min taxi to vacate!!! |

Yep! I was right. Landed PA32 VH-TAT there on 1 January 1976. Dr :8 |
