Well yes...about sums up the average intellect of PNG Politicians...well remember, when they televised parliament in the 90s, the Polly who denounced AIDS as 'a white mans desease'. A white polly called for a point of order and pointed out that AIDS, it was believed, started in black Africa. He was shouted down for making a rascist statement..."I demand the honourable member for ___ retracts that rascist statement" :ugh:

Or the classic "Logic is a white mans trick" when something he had suggested was described as illogical by another MP.

PNG Politics is entertaining....and that's about all.

Sorry pinkie.
I realized as I killed the post after putting it in this thread that your answer would be killed too and I couldn't remember who had answered me.
I wanted that stuff left in here rather than a new thread.... I'm a beginner at this stuff.

Next time you stuff up Old Timer, just click on the "Report this Post" link and a Lapun Woomera will sort out your mess without upsetting the other children! :}

Anyone know if Brian Hegeney(Good Morning) still with us?
I survived one of his famous birthday parties at kagamuga.
The bathtub full of iced down bottles of Johny Walker
Ol Brian always looked like he gone 10 rounds with Cassius Clay most mornings:rolleyes:

Breaking news - Jet fuel crisis in PNG.

Sixtiesrelic; Them's the breaks! T'was only a comment about Djaiapura and how, when I was with them in their last days, Dz operated a Trislander into there from Vanimo a couple times a week. Scott L. was the only name that I can remember who flew it.
Woomera; You can cancel the alert!!:E

You only live twice. Once when
you're born. Once when
you've looked death in the face.

"Dz operated a Trislander..."

Ah, yes, Bikkies made some great operational decisions. He even wanted to build Nomads in PNG about the same time the Aussie Government decided the Nomad was something one shouldn't mention in polite company..........

Mind you, CBG's decision for Pixie tooperate a submarine wasn't necessarily a smart decision either.............

Hey AnimalKlub,

Was it your mob who delivered a brand new Volkswagen to Mount Hagen, unloaded same from a frightener only to have it disappear and never to be found by the rightful owner?

Woomera 22nd Mar 2005 11:33

Ahhh, Sharpie ... tinpis knows something about a shiney new VW at Mendi that he demolished..........

I just wonder whether that VW's owner, initials M.T., may not have acquired the vehicle new from Animalclub at an appropriate discount?

Talking of freighting vehicles, some of you may recall an attempt to ship a certain Mercedes (from memory) with the letters "TAA" in the registration, from PNG to Australia in maybe the late 1960's - and the subsequent reaction from the car's rightful owners.........

To protect the innocent - Trans Australian Airlines did not have personalised number plates!

It is with deep regret I advise Animalclub is in self imposed temporary exile. :p

Dear Dear Woomera

I've been fiddling with my computer and wiped out a few things that I shouldn't!!! Bugga.

I had to re-enter my password for Pprune which I forgot so I replaced my original password through the appropriate channels within Pprune.

Now I can log in and read the posts but I can't send a reply - even after re-logging in as the pop up demands.

I know I'm an idiot, but please how can I participate again - before I suffer withdrawal symptoms.

Cheers

Animalclub

There's two symptoms of Alzeimers Disease - loss of memory and I forget the other.

We wait with bated breath for Animalclub's return........... In the interim, please feel free to berate Animalclub, safe in the knowledge he can't respond!

"There's two symptoms of Alzeimers Disease - loss of memory and I forget the other .."

... there's another joke along that line ... just can't quite recall it ... mate, are we just getting old ?

Animalclub 23rd Mar 2005 02:04

'allayluya... I'm back... I think. Gotta catch up!

Sharpie Don't remember that incident but I did hear talk of a VW just off loaded from the Bristol which had a nice arc chewed out of it by, I think, a Norseman. Don't know who was driving it.

Now Woomera you don't appear to be a nice person!! I'm being polite!!??
I never said that PS was the FINANCIAL adviser to Wingti - look what happened to his business! He was just a hanger-on called an adviser.
Paulines JP was a whole nother story. This ex kiap JP sent TAA a proposal for the Travaire Tours to do a Sepik Cruise. His description of his houseboat had us all in tears - I remember his description of the houseboat's toilet as "yon Sepik". I gather he was quite successful with the Travaires... the tours were a success too. Didn't he build that Sepik lodge near Ambunti (I've forgotten its name) that now belongs to Bob Bates as PNG's first Playboy Club? He reckoned that it was pretty safe from a raid by the authorities as the only way to get there was by boat or aeroplane - that would give him and his guests plenty of time to get dressed!!

Taildragger Yes, it's happened but being a gentleman I won't tell you that it was USA - and she didn't call me masta! Although she did say "masterful"! I've got Silver Wings and Yellow wings too!

Me? Nice? I don't need to be - I've got the big red BAN button in my PPRuNe browser!!! :E

It's Karawari Lodge you're thinking off. And it should be added JP may have been there but it was Junior's brass!!!

Woomera

tinpis 23rd Mar 2005 03:25

Animalclub I think you mean the Karawari Lodge

Airstrip would flood and was like a butchers ..er..finger.
Lotta history there ask Torres.

Torres 23rd Mar 2005 04:32

Yup. Sure do. I reposessed the Lodge. Twice! Once from JP then again from PS - the same PS mentioned in earlier despatches.

Then I tried to repossess the carved timber furniture from those who purloined it, however Junior and McChook wouldn't give them back......... :{

Then some poor guy who was a builder or carpenter, whose name elludes me now, owed us brass and couldn't pay, so I sent him to Karawari Lodge for three or four months to supervise building the airstrip. Used to send him tin fish, rice and a bottle of scotch every week. Dunno what happed to him in the end.

Wonder what happened to the jet boats at Ambunti I think it was.

Yeah ........ Karawari Lodge was nothing but a financial drain on the cash fares which, as we all knew, belonged to the pilots............ :}

Sharpie 23rd Mar 2005 04:33

VeeWubbleUUU's

No. Certainly not refering to the Mendi episode, though I do recall that someon did sneak a mini back to POm in a DC3 Freighter someytime in '74.

This was on the old Hagen 'town' strip when a brand new VW disappeared after being offloaded never to be seen again.

TALAIR REUNION

Maybe we should have a competition to see who can provide the best story of the evening!

Woomera 23rd Mar 2005 05:12

You have to have sympathy for the thankless devotion to duty by our Woomera Moderators......... :\

This is what we get all day............ Geeze ……… talk about anxiety syndrome and withdrawal symptoms………. and all this in less than one hour!!!

(Names changed to protect those who are probably not innocent…….. :} )

Dear Woomera
I would like to get my original monica back. I tried to re-register as Animal Club but some one has it. Bugga.

I can't even sign in right now. I've registered as LongLong Lapun and used the password "sexymeri" but the site will not let me in. It says that the password does not match the registered name... so I did the usual "forgot my password" routine and then it said that I couldn't as I'd sent a request within the last 24 hours.
Please, what's happening.

Chimbu Chuckles Unfortunately (Fortunately) I am in PMI (Look it up) between 29th march and 3 April enjoying a few gallons of Spanish rotgut and looking at all the Yummy Mummys.
'Er Indoors shall be there to bring me back to reality, but I can always slip away for a Bottle of San Mig or two.
Looking forward to having a big sleep or two before I get back and into serious motivational mode.... ie: Getting a job, or not, as the case may be. Next trip perhaps we could discuss this phenomenon over a dero club lunch. What say you.?
And anyway, why should I.?? I like telling the daylight to get f*cked.

Animalclub 24th Mar 2005 01:39
