Air solomons
RUMBEAR,
Ok, fair call, but even VB won't recognise your hours as 'multi-crew' unless the aircraft is certified with a minimum of two crew, as No1Dear stated.

Cathy & Qantas have hired 4 F/Os that had 2 crew DHC6 time in the last 6 months from a PNG operator and were happy to talk war stories of the otter in the interview or so I'm told
geeup,
I'm sure that Twotter co-pilot time was not the only time they had! I'm sure there would have been a fair whack of BN2 time, preceeded by 206 time. My argument is that although they may have been hired, maybe not because they had DHC6 time.
You're not listening. What I am saying is that DHC6 time is not multi-crew time. It is two crew time, however, as the aircraft is certified with one or two crew members.
If the Twotter co-pilot time is built after a solid base of three or four years of command flying with singles and twins and having got the magic 500multi command, then that is good experience. However, jumping straight into the right hand seat does nothing for command skills or learning how you react under pressure when you have to make the decision!!!!

gonewalkabout - probably the chief pilot is good to get on to. just call the number on the solomon airlines website and see if they can pass on some contact details.
Clause, very correct in it being no walk in the park. most of the time, like anywhere, it is quite relaxed. But as soon as theres any weather etc it can get quite bad very quickly.
Have fun on 500metres or so worth of wet grass runways!

You spelled 11 words wrong and some of them repeatedly.
Your statements are awkwardly inaccurate and lame.
I mean really....
stay in ga
lets all get level 6

Jetx I know what you are saying and if I was 18 and fresh out of flight school it would be a golden opportunity for a young bloke and would be there in a shot. However with near 1000 hr pic and in my mid 30's I'm kind of hoping to get out of the singles and get some Twin time without going backwards financially.
My time in the Solomons is what got me interested in flying in the first place having having ridden RH seat in the otters a few times. Hence my original enquiry.
Thanks for all the input guys.

MR S
TO be a RTTRP ‘rising through the ranks pilot’, one does not have to be, MR Swiggle, nor the man from the moon. From the pilots with more experience, and less than I, it seems joining the dots with lines and turning the canvass right side up, to show the correct picture, is incorrect!
An aviating MR Swiggle, would join the dots with lines, right side the canvass to the crowd, and say, “yes, yes, it’s a Turbine, or it could be a 206, and look, look!! ( adding some more line ) it’s a Jetblue Boeing 737!”
All paths that lead you to a destination are all correct, because you got to your destination.
( Not sure if MR Swiggle is spelled correctly, as i have not seen his/hers wonderful tv show for many years )

Is there a website I can get some recruitment information on air solomons? I got over 1000tt but its mostly in single engine, mix of piston and turbine. i'd be pretty keen to move over somewhere like that soley because of the crap I could learn. flying and life experience. and im sure being FO to some guy whos flown thousands of hours in a country like that, youd learn a great deal that you wouldnt learn anywhere else.

Ive never had a well paying flying job, I dont fly to earn money I fly because I love it. I always make enough to cover my overheads and that works out just fine.

Sounds like your keen on flying and life experience.
With 1000hrs and if your interested in PNG try Welcome to Airlines PNG-Home Page or Regional Aviation Group they have more aircraft and bases plus progression to above 5700kgs
Don't listen to j3pipercub or other knockers on this issues as he / they have no first hand experience with it .... cause with the above mentioned companies you will be paid more then a regional pilot in oz and have all your expenses paid

Thanks geeup.
I am just out of my CPL ME-SEP/IR, 250 hrs, I am wondering if they could be interested in me...looking for someone I could talk to there, or an email where I can send my CV.
