There's nothing quite like flying around big wide open paddocks for scenery like your pics. Landing on a nice big grass strip, taxiing up to the house or shed, or walking out of our house, turning the key and away you go. It's fun flying and far more fun than driving to Moorabbin and untying an aircraft from the flight line. I really miss the country flying I used to do. Many of us have probably never experience what I am talking about. Far less people to whinge and no fun police on your own place (except for the wife).

Not how I planned to spend the first afternoon of the New Year, but a nearby bushfire meant that we needed to keep the water up to a couple of these for a few hours .....

Asses Ears / Whitstock, up by the Grampians... Well known to the aerobatic fraternity. There was a lot more grass there when I visited there last time.
