I'll give you a clue Wiz, somewhere in the NT. Boots have to be hung up on hooks outside your room to stop the dingos taking off with them. I found out the hard way.

Hi,
For those that have flown (or fly) the MU-2.....could someone tell me what was the problems are with that aircraft? I head so many negative comments about it regarding handling and performance. I am just curious what in particular they are

Never flown a MU2, but it is an aeroplane that has always appealled to me - like the rest of its mates in the "bad boy" class of aeroplanes - V-tail Bonanza, Aerostar, and Lear 23.
My understanding is that the MU2 is different.
1) roll control is by spoilers rather than ailerons. This makes it inherently different to handle in a engine out situation.
2) the fuel system is different (complex ?) - don't know the story.
3) there has been a question mark over the effects of icing on the aeroplane.
I seem to recall one was lost a good few years ago on a ferry flight from the USA to Oz, by an experienced pilot. I think one was lost in WA in the hands of an equally experienced pilot.

I recall when I went to NZ 20 years ago a 2nd level RPT operator was using them. Highly experienced pilots. Don't recall them having any problems.

LCC, Max and Wiz....spot on, also known as Groundrush I believe. Not sure if its operational at present, photo was taken about 3 years ago. And Wiz, that was one of the more difficult waste dumps I've scaled.

The hiroshima screamer is a nice a/c to fly.. It is far from your average turbine twin.. and should not be operated like one!
It does have a bad wrap. However with sufficient training and a thorough understanding of the systems and limitations it can be operated safely. Plenty of them flying the skies each night in the USA..

Autopilot is not as simple as one would wish..
The inflight breakups are often attributed to overspeeding the a/c. It has a very clean wing and will exceed VNE with little effort!
There are putloads of articles online about the mu2. The one FTD posted should answer all you questions
