Jamair,

I'm guessing a kingair of some description. Far as I know garrets don't run that hot in the cruise so must be a Pratt hence a kingair. How'd I go?

I reckon there's a good chance they are PT-6s, and at 1700 cruise RPM one of the smaller series.
Conquest 441 has 331, these are free turbine engines. Could be a C425 though. My money is on a cheyenne or Beech ...

Jamair, you're more than a mile off track there mate, . Hope you let ATC know about it, .

I'm guessing the photo was taken in a Cheyenne.

Ops is slapping his thighs with laughter at the bagging poor old Jamair is copping!

Clue: Yes they are PT-6s. No it is not a Kingair (of any description).

ULTRALIGHTS

I think you have a ROOOOOTED Oil temp gauge mate. No way the CHT and pressure in that plane are where they are with oil ready to cook your fish and chips

Cheyenne III it is; the trick with the Ground Speed is in the sector - FREDD to ROM (BRG 070), in winter, at night: HUGE westerlies, 100+ kts. Check the ETE vs the Dist - 64 NM in 10 min is pretty good for anything with props.... Best ground speed I saw in it was on descent from FL250 into OK; 412KT on the GPS

The track-holding of the AP was on par with the ALT holding though......

T-Tail Piper Lawn Dart....Bwahahahahaha

Was known as the Piper Death Pencil too.....but I still liked em. Plenty of herbs, great climb, heaps of fuel, reasonably comfy, slick handling....just can't do it all at the same time like a KA Would have liked a shot at the 400LS.....lots of records set in that puppy

Chuckles mate

From the answers and "interpretations" ascribed to good 'ol Jamairs pics, one can only wring ones hands with despair.

Still given the type was being built when most of them were still at kindy, why would we be surprised.

Jamair me old a 400LS was just a jumped up Conquest. If I recall the numbers correctly I could beat one Perth to Sydney in a Conquest every time.

Harry, I just call em as I see em......... I liked the PA42, those points were how I saw it. I also like the KA....they're different beasts is all. I guess the ultimate test is....you can still buy a new KA

Here's the whole thing including my ugly self......

Gaunty ol mate; you bin hidin? Conquest was a jumped-up Cheyenne doncha mean (nah, yer right of course - the 441 started deliveries in '76, the PA42-1000 started deliveries in '84 )
