Requirements for DirectAir Charter

Hey guys and girls,

Anyone out there know what the requirements are for DirectAir Charter?

Also, what are the working conditions like, what sort of structure and progression can be expected for newcomers and finally
who would be the best person to get in touch with regarding applications/cv's/interviews?

Cheers.

Requirements include minimal experience and plenty of ICUS money. Working conditions are below the GA award, progression is promised but not always delivered.

You might want to talk to a funny looking fat guy called Geoff, but he might be a little busy with a pending court case against him. Anymore info, go and talk to the Directair guys, some will give you the time of day.

don't hold back frontseatpassenger! tell him what you really think!

Just to clear up the "misconception", the guys at Direct are all top blokes, and will all give you the time of day. The boys are getting paid above the award, and are all very happy to work there. They are one of the few companies that everyone (boss included) will go out and socialize after work. It's a quiet friday night without seeing the guys at shags.

IT, unless ‘the boys’ have been given a pay rise in the last few months, they are still being paid below the GA Award. Close but no cigar. Do they get IFR, 6th day, 500kg+ freight or meal allowances? How about $1000 for loss of licence insurance? Are the full timers on a roster?

If they get all of these and over $39,000 PA for the fulltime multi ifr pilots working within duty limits, then they might be getting paid above the Award. But I doubt it.

Just for comparison, the casuals at NAC get approx $45-50/hr on singles and $60-65/hr on twins. The full timers get over $42k for base salary.

Are you getting paid the minimum you’re legally entitled to? The GA Award applies to all operators in the NT if you were not aware.

And to quote you again:

Is this now happening at NAC? It never has in the past...

Cheers, HH.

Mr. Hughes,

Cheers indeed.

As for the likes of frontseatpassenger, I don't think many people will give you the time of day when you backstab them like you do/have. And don't bother with that anonymity stunt cause I know full well who you are.

At least your recent behavioural patterns suit the company you're presently associating with. Oh, but then again, they must be a reputable operator, cause their scales are worth more than "$20", right?

Nevermind, you're not worth trying to sway, just stay put in your world of deluded belief and misconception, you can't do too much harm to the rest of us there.

Cheers and gooday.

HH, Yes it is happening under their EBA, and I’m sure it never happened in the past. It’s a brave new world out there. Even one of the worst companies can be turned around when pilots stick together and be counted. The little man who took advantage of his pilots over the years no longer has any influence.

Question – is it true that Air Frontier casuals only get paid $25/hr? Disgraceful!

520, relax. Who cares if frontseatpassenger dislikes DirectAir. If you know who he/she is and you feel so strongly then don’t backstab yourself, go talk to them face to face. Direct after all did happen to publicly advertise their ICUS opportunities in the Australian a few weeks ago. It may be a surprise to you but this sort of business does seem to annoy many hard working pilots. Even you showed distaste for Skippers wanting metro endorsement fees.

Lets live the Dream, and earn enough to live as well.

Fair enough

Point taken, to each their own.

I would go and talk face to face with frontseat passenger, but let's just say that, "he wouldn't give me the time of day".

Ugh.

all the guys are all top blokes, i have met a couple of them, and they will all say hello and have a chat to you, from what i have seen they are there just to fly and not get involved into the darwin politics and bitching that we all do up here.

and the funny thing is they are probably one of the most successful companies operating in darwin at the moment, why?........... have you noticed that none of their pilots have flown out of darwin before, they hire only internal pilots, or i have met a few from W.A.

i have met some guys from direct who where from broome, and Kunnas i think, and they both where loving it there, and were trated well, so they must breed them well over in W.A. different attitudes to darwin pilots i think.

so i guess if your looking for a job with direct, you need to have the right attitude, and not the darwin GA attitude that everyone up here seems to develop.

all i can say is good luck to them, the only reason we bitch is that we want to work for them, but cant.

u must admit you have to ask why there are no darwin pilots but they are running Darwin GA. my guess would be they just have a better, less bitter, and more friendly attitude,
