Jet Sky

Saw the name Arpe on the screen yesterday, during stop in BLL.
The name reminds me about NewAir in several non profitabel editions.
Now it seems that Arpe is involved in a low cost airline called Jet Sky commencing operation and competition with BA and DM on routes to/from BLL with B737.
Does anyone thrust this concept or even judge it to be serious?
From my point of view this issue raises alot of "tag" questions and it would be interesting to hear if there is any comments as this also is a matter concerning liability to the industry.

Red face JetSky

It comes as no surprise that you wonder if the JetSky-project could possibly be a serious contender in the ever swelling market of low fare contenders.

But, as you so rightly points out, this time the new low fare concept is from the outset burdened with a couple of drawbacks it could well do without. One: the name Arpe, two: a spanish carrier.

Kim Arpe is the son of Per Arpe. Together they ran the dubious operator NewAir for years, in its latter years from good facilities at BLL, but a fat lot of good that did. Now their at it again. Makes one wonder why some people never see their own limitations.

Hola Air is a spanish operator, one I have no knowledge of. But, anyone with even the slightest insight into aviation, knows that the Scandinavian market is discerning, and does not take lightly to nonserious operations. Although, any prostitute can be sold if the price is right.

I was under the impression that it was Dutch investors and a Dutch company comming to BLL??

I've already seen an article in a Danish newspaper concerning their liability. But who knows

Does anybody know what aircraft type they are going to operate and if they are going to use Danish crew??

HAPPY NEWYEAR

Today in the Dutch newspapers that this company is started by a man previously charged for fraude whit two other company's

The switched airports in the netherlands from Maastricht EHBK/MAS to Schiphol EHAM/AMS but both outhoryties did not know about this company. Howerver the Slotcoordinator at EHAM received request for slot (they were granted) which is strange since nobody is able to get so many slots at EHAM normaly.

Also the dutch CAA knows nothing about this company whith headquarters in the Netherlands, Altough th company claims to receive an AOC within months from the Danish CAA. For the moment the are going to lease aircraft.

a few 1000 people have already booked tichets and are worried since the Dutch travel burerau organisation (ANVR) has given out a warning about this company.

To be continued................

olhol...i find it quite insulting that you imply Hola is a prostitute. we are a small company that flys both the 737 and the 757, and we are in the business of making ends meet and providing employment, not ****ing all you married hypocrites, if you see what i mean.
about your friend arne...he has the right to try again, and again and again and again, as long as he doesnt hurt anyone in the process. has he hurt you and is that why you sound so bitter ? didnt the Danes sign on as full EEC members? well then, Hola or anybody else has the right and option to fly out of denmark, as air berlin do in spain right now, and basic and eay and ryan etc etc etc. grow up.

Sorry I rattled your cage. 30 years in the business makes me qualified to voice my opinion. 6 months as Operations Manager with the Danish party in question ( after having retired from active cockpit duty with a reputable airline ), made me conclude that this particular person ought not to be approved as Accountable Manager under JAR. That is if JAR should have a meaning in this context. Therefore, I resigned. As for Hola, I said I do not know them and if you deduce that Hola is a prostitute, it is your deduction. Apart from this I suppose you have seen the clearly voiced warnings about the project issued by representatives for the travel industry both in Denmark and abroad?

Prostitutes?
Unless you are of independent means (have enough cash to never have to work), then we are all for sale...as long as the price is right!

Listen, let's stop this now. My memories are the very best I assure you, but does that exclude a trifle objectivity? Nor does objectivity exclude loyalty.

My name is Harald Olsen (58), I am a Norwegian, I flew my last twenty years for Wideroe's in Norway and if you would like to read my happy memories I cordially invite you to visit my website on http://www.harald.olsen.dk.

I hope you accrue as many happy memories as I have. Thank you kindly for our exchange. I'll refrain from comment further on this topic, but if you'd like to continue, feel free to mail me on [email protected].

Happy flying!

Devil Amazing...!

I think i am correct that there is atleast some 100 yrs accumalated "experience" in the buisness now on this topic.

What is amazing is that non of you self exclaimdt specialists have any knowledge of how an airline is started up and let alone qualified to judge the one's starting up.

The cheapest way is to qoute the newspaper and dumbest way is to do it incorrectly, read the w.h.o.l.e articles people!! There you can find that it was already known that a "" company is starting up with initial 'wetlease' and after they have proven theire books, their own a/c come online.

Come on people.... use your grey cell's and don't play stupid.

As for the experience from former NewAir employees; i guess your place in the basked was a little too close to the rotten apple, looks like it rubbed off on you.

I see most of the employees including Arpe as the good guys who have been mislead by a few soure irish guy's that needed to lander some dirty money.

In one sentence you clear the A's and blame the I's. In the next I am to close to the apple. And for the record, I have been instrumental in starting three airlines.

Devil

I don't clear anybody neith pass any blame. however it strikes me how stupid people can act when they have not engaged their brain.

The storm (in a cup) was started by ill informed dutch journo's and in the same article they first condemn a startup airline and furterh in the article they actualy supplie the right awnser wich contradicts the initial distrust. So yes i am stupified by the fact that someone seemingly so close to the fire can blindly react on such nonsens.

And BeerBeer, if you where indeed instrumental how come you can't realise that they would use an inexpensive wet-lease sollution for the initial start up phase?

Pointer

and i guess it's too early or my brain has not been engaged well enough; Olholh what's with the A's and I's?

A=Arpe, I=Irish.

Unquote.

Nothing wrong with wetlease, it's used all the time, I've used it myself. Nothing wrong with the employees either. It's the rotten apple I'm after. It's neither qualified, ethically fit or knowledgeable enough to be approved as Accountable Managers. But in teh JetsSky-concept they don't need that.

This is not worth my effort anymore. At least you confirm not being a cockpit crew. We live from being corrected by others. And listen. Thanks for the good going! Bye!

Ahh you know it All?

The key to succes in the cockpit (according to my limited vision) is to know one's limitations e.g. that we never know it all!

That's when one can start learning from others.

It is the usefull corrections that will imprint on the one's we try to enlighten with our limited experience. Corrections without visible touch with the intended topic are working the opposite way.

now who's not a cockpit crew member?

I do agree with OLHOLH, all way around.
Overnight can be quite boring, but at BLL the air is full of roumors.
Latest on Jetssky:
They intend to operate a few departures with HOLA and then continue, as long as it may last, with Fokker 50!
Some ex Newair F50 crew has been offered job.

Just my own comments: We have seen it before: New Air down the drain. Once in Copenhagen and Esbjerg with HP 7 (old J31)
and E110. Next in BLL, saved by Irish investor with no knowledge of avaiation and last time in the fall of 2003 as it went bust after months of noop and wild tryouts as dumping the charter market with low prices and high commision.
The company has from my point of view always suffered from 4 major and vital points of success in airline business:
(And of course the pop-up name: Arpe!)

1. High Costs/Low yield
2. No contracted service
3. Bad Flight OPS dept. (WIHIH OPS)
4. Bad management

(WHIH stands for "What In Hell Is Happening?)

So dear JETSSKY, you can do wath you want, but do not spoil the industry or any thrustful youngsters with a licence to fly (live).

have you no brains at all? who would first hire heavy metal and then continue on old (but still very good) Turboprop's?

Do the math and then report back in, I guess i am a little closer to the source.

That the F50 will be used is not incorrect but... the rest of the story you just told is!

Don't be a Journo (they are obviuosly dumb asses)
