Reputable UK defence journalist:
Reports of Akrotiri explosions are piling up. They might still not be accurate, but laughable UK GBAD capability makes Akrotiri easiest target in region. If it comes, a lot of people will have to live with awareness they did nothing. It did not take Nostradamus prophecies. Three Eurofighter Typhoons FGR.4s and an Airbus KC.2 Voyager are now up from RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, possibly carrying out combat air patrols over the Eastern Mediterranean looking for additional drones launched by Iran. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....0a1aa12dc.jpeg |

When it’s your lucky day and a drone doesn’t detonate.
Video BREAKING - A British man vacationing in Dubai is going viral after an Iranian drone flew through his apartment window while he was drinking his morning tea. “I didn’t even get to finish my cuppa tea.” |
Israeli media reports that Iran’s acting supreme leader, Ayatollah Arafeh, was killed in new strikes on Tehran. He was appointed today following the death of Khamenei in previous joint military operations. |
Confirmation of the B-2 targets, no real surprise. I’d have been shocked if they weren’t nuclear related.
Last night, U.S. B-2 stealth bombers, armed with 2,000 lb. bombs, struck Iran’s hardened ballistic missile facilities. No nation should ever doubt America's resolve. Video US Air Force B-2A Spirit long range strategic bombers from Whiteman AFB, MO have just touched down at Dyess AFB, TX after diverting following their mission over Iran due to weather at Whiteman. |

If attacking Iran is the answer, what was the question that begat the answer.. |
According to the Omanis, fdr, the question was "why is anyone interfering in the Iran/Israel war?"
I make that somewhat wry observation based on this news report. Source is Big News Network.com. (The Omani official utterance is at the end of the post). DUBAI, UAE - Loud explosions have been heard in Dubai, while a Pakistani national has been killed by falling debris from a missile shot down by the UAE military in the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi. (extra details in the spoiler)
Spoiler
The British embassy said it was aware of missiles being seen over Dubai and urged British nationals in the UAE, estimated to be above 220,000 in number to seek shelter. The UAE Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged and destroyed 137 ballistic missiles and 209 drones launched towards the country's territory, underscoring the high readiness of the air defence systems and their capability to address various threats. The ministry said that, since the beginning of the attack, 137 Iranian ballistic missiles launched towards the UAE had been detected, of which 132 were destroyed, while five fell into the sea. A total of 209 Iranian drones were also detected; 195 were intercepted, while 14 fell within the country's territory and waters, causing some minor side damage. It noted that, as a result of the effective interception of the missiles and drones, some debris fell in separate areas across the country, leading to minor material damage to a number of civilian facilities. Explosions have also been heard in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan and Iraq. These countries have closed their airspace and national airlines have been grounded. Target of the missle attacks in the Gulf countries have been U.S. military bases hosted by them. Iran had vowed to attack these bases if it came under attack from U.S. and Israeli forces. "This operation will continue relentlessly until the enemy is decisively defeated," Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement Saturday. More stuff about the Gulf States in the spoiler.

Oman, which has a closer relationship with Iran, as opposed to its neighbours, was critical of the U.S. getting involved in what it described as Israel's war. "{snip} Active and serious negotiations have yet again been undermined. Neither the interests of the United States nor the cause of global peace are well served by this. And I pray for the innocents who will suffer," Oman' s Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi said Saturday. "I urge the United States not to get sucked in further. This is not your war," he added. |

RAF responding to suspected drone strike at UK base in Cyprus, MoD says - BBC News
A British RAF base in Cyprus was targeted by a "suspected drone strike" on Sunday night, the Ministry of Defence has said. The MoD said the armed forces were responding to the attack at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus at around midnight local time (22:00 GMT). The BBC understands there were no casualties in the suspected strike. "Our force protection in the region is at the highest level and the base has responded to defend our people," the MoD said. It comes after Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said the UK had agreed to a US request to use British military bases for "defensive" strikes on Iranian missile sites. |

CNN reporting "Several" USA aircraft "crash" over Kuwait
https://edition.cnn.com/2026/03/02/m...-iran-intl-hnk
"Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense said “several United States military aircraft crashed” on Monday and that “all crew members survived.” The statement comes after videos geolocated by CNN showed a fighter jet crashing in Kuwait and a pilot parachuting to the ground. CNN has reached out to US Central Command for comment. “Relevant authorities immediately initiated search-and-rescue operations,” Kuwait’s defense ministry spokesperson Col. Said Al-Atwan said in the statement. “The crews were evacuating from the crash sites and transferred to hospital to assess their condition and provided necessary medical care,” he said. The crew members are in a “stable” condition, the ministry added. Al-Atwan said Kuwait was in “direct coordination” with US authorities." |

That it results from the response of a state to independent actions by the US and Israel, makes it rather interesting, and possibly a poor decision on targeting by the new, new leaders of Iran. The latest leader didn't survive a day before his position became vacant.
If attacking Iran is the answer, what was the question that begat the answer.. (I was born in Akrotiri, and lived in Dhekelia, so have some interest....) |
There will be a state funeral in Iran shortly for the “Martyrs”. Will there be a pause in strikes for this? If not, then Pandora’s Box will be well and truly open.

A huge plume of smoke is rising from the refinery. |
