Define what is appropriate, 60 rounds, 5 rounds or one round? chances are after the first 5 they will be dead. Up until of late Thailand used to execute people by a fixed machine gun firing a fully automatic burst of 15 rounds into the heart of the convicted.
Uniquely, Thailand used a single executioner with one stand mounted machine gun per prisoner, to put murderers and drug traffickers to death. Over 500 people were shot in Thailand between 1937, when shooting replaced beheading and October 2003, when Thailand moved to lethal injection as its sole method of execution. All those sentenced to death there were held at Bang Kwang maximum security prison, about 20 miles outside Bangkok. The virtually soundproof execution chamber, known as the "Place to Relieve Suffering," contained two wooden crosses and two stand mounted Heckler & Koch 9mm machine guns. Prisoners were confined in heavy leg irons from the time of sentence to the time of execution, which could be anything from a few weeks to a few years and were told of their fate only hours before they were shot. On the day of execution, the prisoner was taken from their cell, photographed and fingerprinted. They were then taken to the execution chamber and handcuffed to a cross like wooden frame with their back to the machine gun, four meters behind them. A white cloth blindfold is applied and the hands tied with a sacred Buddhist cord. Flowers are hung from the prisoner’s hands as an offering to Buddha and a canvas screen is pulled between the condemned and the gun. A target is fixed onto the screen level with the prisoner’s heart and the gun aimed at the centre of the target. The executioner takes up his position, watching another member of the execution team who raises a red flag, and on the signal from the prison governor, the flag is dropped and the executioner fires a fully automatic burst of 15 rounds into the victim’s heart. Fourteen men and one woman faced this death during 1999. Only one execution was recorded in 2000. There were at least six in 2001 and another six in 2002 and four in 2003. Back to the War... |

France, Germany and Italy, the home of Europe’s biggest arms manufacturers, are likely to be the biggest beneficiaries to the detriment of the UK, which is the world’s seventh largest arms exporter. “Essentially, this is a zero-sum game and the proposal will bolster European defence industry at the costs of those outside the union,” a diplomatic source in Brussels said. |
The EU Commission only doles out what it takes in. If the UK was still a contributor we’d be paying in more than we took out.
In the circumstances better for the Treasury to let their own contracts to rearm. |

Lacking any sort of graceful way out, it means Russia has to overrun Ukraine - and declare its own peace with a middle finger to the rest of the world - or die trying. That last part being particularly scary, since it could easily mean the use of nukes. |

Nothing Russia would do surprises me anymore and without Moscow and St Petersburg one feels there would be no Russia, the whole place would simply collapse.

BAe only let the old ROF Radway Green, for mall arms ammo production, the site is owned by a Korean investment group! With the Govt spending the last 40 years demonising civilian shooting, there is basically little to no UK commercial ammo production outside of 20g and 12g game/sporting ammo, and Eley's .22rf that could be turned over to other stuff in times of need either. Even the NRA have to get their 7.62 match ammo supplies from GGG in Lithuania. |
At least western governments aren't spending time, money and resources on this type of nonsense.
