A very good read and contains some pertinent points to those complaining about the cost of supplying weaponry to Ukraine.

“We received Nasams rockets produced in 1994. In 2024, they will reach their service life limit. The disposal of an Amraam AIM-120B missile is $26,000 to $28,000. It’s easier to launch it, give it to us. Give us these missiles, we will use them,” he said.
The Americans have 1,100 Patriot launchers, with 40 older PAC-2 batteries in permanent storage that could completely protect Ukrainefrom Russian missiles, he said.
“They’ve already been paid for by the grandmothers of current US citizens. You either have them sitting around rotting away or you give them to us, we’ll use them somehow,” he added.
The Russians have adapted their tactics to avoid Patriot batteries, he said, focusing on striking cities far from the capital, such as Odesa, which are not yet covered. They are also upgrading old missiles with advanced technology and radar-absorbent skins. In recent weeks Moscow’s focus has been trying to take out the Ukrainian airfields from where British Storm Shadow missiles are launched, hitting command and logistical centres deep inside occupied territory.
“The strikes on airfields are a tribute to Storm Shadow. Thank you very much, UK, because they really proved to be very effective. With Storm Shadow, you launch a trap missile and an anti-radar missile. All at the same time in the same direction. So the Russians, if they try to intercept Storm Shadow, get an anti-radiation missile hit on their radar. Plus traps. Very, very effective stuff.”
The colonel said that Storm Shadows actually had double their published range, some 500km rather than 250km, demonstrating there was no reason for the US to continue holding out on providing Atacms missiles with a similar range, but which can be fired by Himars ground systems already in service with the Ukrainian military.

Russia launched a multi-wave overnight attack on Ukraine, using 70 air assault weapons, including cruise and hypersonic missiles and Iranian-made drones, Kyiv’s air force has said.
Reuters reports that the air force said Ukraine’s air defence destroyed 30 out of 40 cruise missiles and all 27 of the Shahed drones that Russia launched overnight.
It was not immediately clear whether there was any damage from the attack or what happened to the 10 cruise missiles that were not shot down. There was no immediate comment from Russia.
Air force spokesperson Yuriy Ihnat said one of the key targets for Russia’s overnight attack was the Khmelnytskiy region. Russia had earlier targeted the Starokostiantyniv military airfield* in the Khmelnytskiy region…

… Zelenskiy said Russian missiles had hit a factory belonging to Motor Sich, which makes plane and helicopter engines and other components.
It is one of several companies requisitioned by the Ukraine government since Moscow’s invasion. The site is near Khmelnytskyi in western Ukraine, around 300km (190 miles) south-west of Kyiv….
Explosions have been reported near Starokostiantyniv Air Force Base in the Khmelnytskyi Region of Western Ukraine as a result of Strikes by 3M54-1 “Kalibr” Cruise Missiles launched by Russian Naval Ships in the Black Sea.
The Base is home to the 7th Tactical Aviation Brigade which operates Su-24M Tactical Bombers which are capable of launching “Storm Shadow” Cruise Missiles.

Word is a Kinzhal was fired at Ukraine from.... Belarus - unverified.
Naughty Alex.
Would suspect that Farkers is launching from Russian airspace, and tracking over Belarus, in an attempt to get Belarus into the program to expand the front. Resultsmay vary are unknown. That seems to be asymmetric to the "lets tie Ukraines arms behind their back, we don't want to upset a war criminal..." . Would think that passing on the message to Farquard that restrictions on Ukraines use of weapons will be lifted if they, the criminals, continue to conduct war crimes, after all, Ukraine has an absolute right to defend itself from the aggressors who have zero interest in being bound by the UN Charter or any form of decency.
Lukashenko needs to up his Polonium tea intake, he is a drag on Belarus (I don't judge though...).

(Note that this would also close the road/rail route to Kaliningrad)
Polish official: Poland considers 'any steps' necessary to protect territory.
Poland may need to close its border with Belarus as "the threat is very real," Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Jablonski told CNN on Aug. 5.

"Regarding the missiles from Belarusian territory - it is likely that it was an electronic launch or a launch simulation, since russian troops, forces, and means for various provocations are deployed in this country to pull it into the war against Ukraine," he noted.
Yusov explained how the russians might have resorted to a simulated missile launch.
"Physically, it might not have happened, but everything could be arranged as if the launches were coming from Belarusian territory. The information is currently being verified," added the GUR representative.

More verbal s**** from you know who.
Deputy Chair of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev took a vodka breakfast and commented on the summit regarding Ukraine that is taking place in Jeddah. "Peace proposals includes the participation of both sides and this is not the case. Also Ukraine never existed until 1991, it is a fragment of the Russian empire. However, the negotiations themselves are not yet needed. The enemy must crawl on his knees, begging for mercy," he stated.

As with Poland, Denmark has also switched from European partners to a foreign supplier.
In January, after reaching an agreement with France, Denmark announced its intention to transfer 19 trucks equipped with an artillery system [CAESAR] to Ukraine. These trucks, acquired from Nexter/KNDS, were originally intended to enter service with Denmark's ground forces.
Months later, Elbit Systems, an Israeli arm company, announced that it had signed two contracts, worth a total of $252 million, to supply nineteen ATMOS and eight PULS systems to a NATO country, which is likely Denmark.
The reason for Denmark's switch from a European supplier to an Israeli arm company could be attributed to various factors. One reason could be that the French CAESAR was undergoing a modernization process to compete against the Swedish Archer and the Israeli Atmos.
Another factor could be the delivery time. Currently, it takes three years to deliver some units of the Caesar, and this delay is not unique to the French industry but rather indicative of larger issues in the European defense industry.
For example, the German industry takes 2-4 years to deliver a Leopard 2 barrel, and a similar situation exists for IFVs and multi-purpose vehicles, with the delivery of German Boxers also taking 2-3 years.
These delays and capacity issues in the European industry have created an opportunity for foreign companies to sell weapons to the continent. As Europe becomes a major buyer of weapons again, it raises questions about the impact on European citizens and job creation within the EU.
Most of Europeans refuse the militarization, but surely if it's unavoidable, the jobs should stay in EU.
Given this context, discussions about large-scale wars, such as one against China, may be more fiction than realistic. Europe is facing a decade of arm production, and its limited domestic capacity is leading to an increase in foreign weapons sales.

I don't get this guy at all... how many weeks does he think it will take before Putin is crawling on his knees, begging for mercy? Dimmi the dummy spitter surely knows that no one can crawl after a 6th story window exit? How often has he seen that done, must be getting practiced by now. If Vlad is still carrying a Makarov on the way planet wards, that might actually be a military aviation event! All 1.9312 seconds. He gets to 37kts at resignation, a tad over M0.05.
Oh, wait; Dimmi isn't talking about Vlad? Pity, was one of his better vodka infused rants.
