Wouldn't you open the windows, not close them, as the pressure wave from a nearby blast would blow in closed windows?

Details: Razvozhayev posted an air-raid alert message on social media with recommendations to close the windows, turn off the water, turn off the gas and lights and either go to shelter or hide in the house behind a load-bearing wall.

It appears some ATACMS were used against Crimea.

Yes, it used to be something we looked for flying into lovely places like Crossmaglen - windows open on a wet or cold day was a sign of a probable mortar attack.

Another S400 taken out in Crimea. Precursor to the hits in Sevastopol?

Indeed! They are punching above their weight.
It was just to counter the assumption that from some F-16 delivered one could draw conclusions how the S-400 would fare in real battle against NATO forces. You can't. Well you could if it would even fail again Ukraines then F-16s. Then it would be clear that it is total crap. Which I don't assume. But having seen how so far all of their systems including formerly much vaunted Tor systems did not perform particularly well (or in case of their tanks even really dismal) I would be surprised if the S-400 (of which in the meantime a surprising number has been destroyed by Ukrainian missiles (!!!)) would suddenly show a stellar performance.

Well the west have been training them since the invasion of Crimea and have taken a rabble and moulded them into an effective fighting force while weeding out those that were holding them back. I wouldn't say punching above their weight these days, more like holding their own and on par with a lot of modern western contemporaries, they have shown excellent ability to take on new technology, absorb the changes and use them effectively.

Russia on the other hand have shown the effect of having corruption rife through both the military and industry, where syphoning funds for personal gain appears to be the norm at the detriment of the equipment and manpower produced, after all the average Russian officer or industry probably never expected their goods or men to be actually tested in combat.
So slip a few backhanders and get the latest kit through testing, whether fit for purpose of not, and rob your troops blind of the equipment they should expect while flogging it on the black market, from rations to uniforms to weaponary, it was open house.

Then take them to war telling them it is simply another drill... so your troops do not realise they are invading until they are actually in Ukraine, provide them with basics, lack of body armour, ammunition or target goals , give them maps that are decades out of date, and steal the funds that were put in place for the invasion.

Aren't you being a bit hard on them, Nutty? The rabble you mention gave the Russians a bloody nose within a few weeks of the invasion, showing flexibility and speed of action of which any army could be proud . Certainly the West has helped them thereafter, but how many 'Westerners' could successfully complete in a few weeks those complex courses which 'Westerners' are expected to complete in as many months?

The Russians are equally resourceful in other directions. I liked last year's story about the general who was convicted of stealing a consignment of tank engines. His pocketfuls of cylinder blocks, pistons and conrods no doubt speeded hastened his descent from the window.

Maybe so Geriaviator…

Russian air defence hit in Crimea, it almost feels like Ukraine is clearing a path for further aerial attacks.

And as their side says, they’re hardly inflicting any casualties on the Ukrainian side… They can’t have many mobiks left.
Russian instructor describes the assault methods of penal Storm Z units in Avdiivka, who take significant losses due to being considered less valuable. He mentions irreversible losses to 40-70%.

Russian losses have reportedly exceeded 300k.

Next milestone to look for is 10000 lost APC's. With current rate it is exceeded before December.

Here is another example how it works ("meat assault") and why I don't believe for a moment that Ukranian losses would be on par with Russians. I just wonder if Putin thinks that Ukraine will run out of ammunition before he will run out of soldiers.

Video of their partying and video photos of their demise….

Just last week, videos of the 1st battalion of the 1251st motorized rifle regiment from the Chuvash Region of Russia appeared cheering for war with slogans like “Let's return Russian lands from Alaska to Kiev!"

Well, they all just got wiped out while gathered to be moved.

Around 120 dead according to sad Russian channels.
