Jan Kallberg, @Cyberdefensecom, has a wonderful piece on Russian Army logistics in Southern Ukraine that is well worth the read.
I'm going to clip from and expand upon it in this 🧵

The SSU detained a traitor who "leaked" the geolocations of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine counterattacking near Bakhmut to the Russians.
The perpetrator turned out to be a teacher from one of the lyceums in Kramatorsk, who worked for the main directorate of the General Staff of the armed forces of the Russian Federation.
The court chose a preventive measure for her in the form of detention. The investigation is ongoing. The perpetrator faces life imprisonment.

According to Al Jazeera, the guy arrested in Finland is a long term Wagner fighter.

Wagner-linked social media channels say fighter detained in Finland
Social media channels linked to Russia’s Wagner Group say a top fighter had been detained in Finland at Ukraine’s request. The man was identified as Yan Petrovsky, who has fought in Ukraine since 2014 as part of Rusich, or the Sabotage Assault Reconnaissance Group, a Wagner subunit. He was arrested a month ago and could now be extradited to Ukraine, according to an affiliated Telegram channel. A district court in Vantaa near Helsinki is expected to extend Petrovsky’s detention at the request of the Finnish National Bureau of Investigation, a court official said. The bureau sought the detention of Petrovsky, who also uses the name Voislav Torden, on suspicion of participating and supporting ‘terrorism’, the official said.

Russian authorities in occupied regions of Ukraine are forcing residents to return to previously evacuated settlements on the front line, the National Resistance Center reported on Aug. 25.
The Center said that Ukrainians who had earlier been deported to Berdiansk due to heavy fighting were being sent back to front-line homes in Tokmak and Vasylivka.
People living in these communities are essentially "human shields," the Center said.
According to the report, Russian authorities are also planning to open schools on the front.
Along with the danger posed to schoolchildren due to intense fighting in the area, Russian troops may use schools as makeshift military bases. The official explanation for military presence in schools is to provide additional security for students.
"However, in reality, the vacant floors are used by combat units of the Russian Armed Forces," the Center said.
Russian-installed proxies in the occupied regions have conducted forced evacuation campaigns as part of their efforts to depopulate Ukrainian territory and pressure residents to take Russian passports.
By the same token, occupying authorities prevented evacuation from areas flooded after the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam.

Talking of logistics, how is Crimea faring for water now the supply canal is dry? I have seen no mention of there being an issue. Was its significance exaggerated?

NutLoose and ORAC (among others) have suggested moving posts about the aircraft crash with Y. Prigozhin on board to their own thread.
I have added them to the original Insurrection thread here, on the estimate that the two are very much related related.
That thread has a revised title to include a reference to the crash.
To expect transparency from the RU authorities might be overly optimistic, so it won't be in the Accidents sub forum siice it being an accident or not remains in doubt.

Thank you all for your patience.

Was this a recent mod? I don't recall seeing that on MI's before.
For those not sure of the reference that John D has made:
The Blackhawk has a vibration mitigation device (a bifilar vibration absorber) on its main rotor head. (As does the Seahawk).
The vibration absorbers are that assembly right under where the cannon plugs are; the tungsten weights have the two holes on their top and bottom.
If you look at the two rotor heads on the aircraft in the two pictures (thank you Wokkafans), the bottom one seems to have them, or something like them.
(But it may have a different function?)
I am not sure that those two pictures are of the same aircraft.
For those interested in some of the nuances of that feature ...
