Perhaps you should put such eminent expertise at the service of the industry rather than just heckling and jeering from the bar. In life there are those who do things and make things, and there are those who just heckle. Each chooses which role they are best suited for.

I did mate, I told them exactly what we wanted but they wouldn’t listen, on numerous occasions!!!

Funny old thing, we ended up buying what we wanted and the company had to make more redundancies. Not that I shed a tear too much as we had just made a load of redundancies ourselves due to an unaffordable equipment programme - being mostly made up of their overpriced wares being pressed upon us by their local fat boy MP!

Radio 4’s Analysis has just done an interesting half hour investigation on Defence funding.

Interestingly amongst the contributors was Gen Barons warning of impending disaster in a manner not entirely unreminiscent of Churchill’s wilderness years, and CDS who politely but firmly said Barons was entitled to his own opinion. In other words, it’s fine, we’ve done splendidly these past few years, don’t know what the fuss is about. If ever there was an example of talking your own book, that was it.
